Program
George presented us with a mystery speaker at the meeting. Kathy Johnson of the Baxter Police Dept. arrived with her three-year old long-haired German Shepherd police dog named Zeus. Kathy and Zeus had training in March for tracking, patrol, and apprehension. He still needs to be trained for drugs. An article in the Brainerd Dispatch recently showed them in action. Kathy works with him every day. Sertoma contributed money to help with the $10,000 cost for the dog, equipment, and training. Thanks Kathy, there were many people who might be interested in adopting this beautiful dog when he retires (police officers get first chance, if none of them want to adopt the dog then they find a good home for him).
