Program
Brainerd Sertoma Club - Jim PotvinPresided by President Jim Potvin who mentioned that Gary Walters recently was awarded the Distinguished Governor Award. There wasn't an official program or speaker today.

Mike Boen mentioned that The Northern Lakes Sertoma Club was doing a "Dancing Santa" Fundraiser. You may notice the giant Santa around town. Contact Mike if you want to rent it to be in front of your business.

We had a disappointing New Member Orientation yesterday - no new members showed up. Just a reminder that all new members need to attend the orientation - sponsors should make sure they do.
Julia Sullivan promoted her Party Room at Godfather's for the upcoming Holiday Season. Also, you can get Godfather's gift certificates for your employees - $10 gift certificate only costs $5!
Jim Potvin explained that the fine money goes to the Social Committee for social events and that the Pot of Gold winner is picked from members' names, (that have already been to orientation). Jim also stressed the importance of Sponsor involvement with new members and the development of a new form for use with Sponsors.
We will be undertaking a new fundraiser next year - The Christmas Lighting Program and we have arranged to have it held at the BIR Family Camping Area. Look for more details to come.
Kristine Welle, Brainerd Sertoma Kristine Welle spoke as the Membership Chair regarding some of her committee's goals including the importance of retention issues then we can strive for growth.

South Dakota clubs have issued Minnesota clubs a challenge for growth. Gary Walters has accepted the challenge, we need to have nine new members to cover our part.

Remember: Greeters (Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting people at the door and getting the ticket money counted and divided with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for the social committee's budget). As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Club Treasurer (Diane Rook Johnson) and half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you can't. Call Patty Hartman.

The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond.
