District Governor Pete Alexander Probably the most interesting portion of District Governor Pete Alexander's speech today was his sharing of information about Dr. Scott Palmer from St. Cloud Hospital who is spending some time under the aegis of the Red Cross counseling victims of the terrorist attack in New York City. Dr. Scott has communicated to fellow members of Pete's home St. Cloud Sertoma that his disaster relief program training did not prepare him for the sight of the World Trade Center Disaster that was one thousand times worse than he had imagined it would be. Dr. Scott will be available as a guest speaker for area Sertoma Clubs when he returns next week. Pete went on to compliment the Brainerd Noon Club on remaining the largest club in Sertoma with 163 members compared to 159 for the nearest competitor. He said with the resurgence of patriotism, this was a wonderful time to go out and ask people to become members. Governor Alexander then went on to discuss some practical matters. The last national convention raised the dues $2 per quarter per person. The next national convention will be held in Toronto, Canada , on July 10-13th. Other dates to keep in mind include the Regional Convention in Omaha May 2-4 with the theme Omaha Safari and the District Convention to be held in St. Cloud at the Kelly Inn on Division on December 1st with check in the previous evening. Pete has applications for all of these conventions. FAS 821-1130 Brett Smith He then went on to discuss the Sy Gau scholarship applications for relatives of Sertomans who are planning post secondary education and matching grants with the December 1st deadline. He presented Dave Burggraff with a $2500 foundation check from his Sertoma for Camp Sertoma and congratulated him on being named District Sertoman of the Year.

Sertoman of the Day
Jeff Olson This familiar face was at the podium today presenting an impromptu rendition of Sertoman of the Day. Jeff Olson, Executive Director of Camp Confidence, is a familiar sight at Sertoma meetings. One of the things that makes Jeff's face so prominent is his ability to get fined. I do not think that I have ever seen Jeff wearing his pin or his badge and he is my Sertoma sponsor. Reed Campbell was the person who invited Jeff to join the club 15 years back. FAS 821-1130 Rory Coit.Jeff is single and currently resides on Sylvan Lake next to Camp Confidence, a move of the last week or so that got him out of the camper he has been living in since he sold his home last spring. His embarrassing moments had to do with his high school sports careers that included a state hockey tournament without his skates and a track meet without his shorts. He started out at Camp Confidence as Program Director and even though he enjoys being the director of Camp he misses the day to day interaction with the campers. His dream for the future is to win the lottery so that he can see Camp Confidence endowed and no longer dependent on fund raising. Jeffıs Sertoma history is colorful and many truly wonderful stories could be shared about his involvement and the sharing that Sertoma has done in making Camp what it is today. Jeff's other dream for the future is to have the time to totally indulge himself in his favorite pursuits--hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Notes
Find a Sawbuck Corner:
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond. For instance this week neither Rita Johnson or Kathy B. Lee won.
Cami Haberman and Brad Noyes Cami Haberman and Brad Noyes visited from the Northern Lakes Sertoma Club today to sell raffle tickets. Over 30 $10 tickets were sold for chances to win a 4 wheeler and trailer, weekend at Breezy $100 Gift Certificate at the Oasis, Weekend for 4 at Camp Snoopy and many more.
Photos Photos Everywhere Whew, over 70 new photos have been uploaded to the MSN Community Page where your hard working photographer is now storing photos. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the photographs of the Ditch Pick (subtitled Dave Clausenıs Bachelor Party and including some photos from the actual wedding dance) either click on this link or cut and paste this address in the browser window: http://communities.msn.com/BrainerdNoonSertoma/_whatsnew.msnw If you are looking for a name to match a face, Pam is also trying to take current head shots of all Sertoma members and providing an online directory at the same location.
