We did not have a regular program today. Instead the newly formed
Pipe and Drape Committee that is now meeting once a month gave us
a report on their progress. They are in the process of applying to
the banks that have Sertoman members for funding of approximately
$35,000 to handle all the needed equipment for the Chamber and
MMBA shows at the Civic Center. This funding application was made
possible when both of these organizations signed a five year
commitment to use Sertoma Pipe and Drape. Thanks to Kari Barnes
and her committee for the active interest in making the Pipe and
Drape work as well if not better than it has in the past. |

Schedule |
| Remember:
As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10
minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find
their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate.
The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half
goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and
half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets.
Be there by 11:45 and call somebody to substitute for you if you
can't be there. |

| Sertoman of the Day |
Kristin
Larsen who is one of our very active rookies was today's honored
Sertoman. Kristin works for Charter Media and her husband Brian
works for Good Samaritan Society. Kristin is very active in the
Festival of Trees as a result of that association.
She believes they were fated to come back to Minnesota and
Brainerd because both her and her husband were able to transfer
their jobs here from Oregon at the same time three years ago. They
have two children. Kristin really enjoys all family activities,
summers at the lake and snowmobiling in the winter. She is also a
knitter and a scrapbook enthusiast. Her secret love of Harleys
resulted in considerable heckling from the audience but she took
it all in stride.
She truly loves the field of advertising and she has been with
Charter Media for seven years. Charter Media handles all the
advertising on the Charter communications systems throughout the
state and Wisconsin. This includes the strategic placement of
advertising as well as the production. She is the only Charter
Media employee in Brainerd and she replaces Trent Baumann at
Sertoma. Originally, that is why she joined but she knew after
just a few weeks that this was a great group. She told us all
about barfing all over her fellow 4H members on a Valley Fair
ride. She has already become involved by being a rookie since they
are now in charge of gossamer ceiling. |

returned to the Sertoma Club for use. Welcome back Andy and Dan
Holmes, Debbie Kraklau, Kathy Bittner Lee. |

-
What
fun, not a single member of the dog pound got fined today--the
reason? The pipe and drape committee was occupying their chairs
so they sat with Pam in the newsletter corner. Pam even had her
money out so she could pay their fines.
- Greg Straka could have lost all his money to fines today but
he donated his winnings to the Peter Eigner fund. He introduced
himself as Greg Straka-Dick Enrico and then pointed across from
him to Paul Gropper and introduced him as "Mini-Me". As you can
see by the photo the resemblance is striking.
- Todd Alguire brought his "daughter" (she is actually his
wife) with him as a guest today. Last week the discussion was
about Shanna and how young she looked at the Ritzy party, so
here is
the
photo and you can be the judge.
- Anita Traveca and Steve Mau did a Mutt and Jeff imitation
when Steve grabbed the microphone before she could introduce
herself.
- David Pundt paid a Mensa fine, Ron Morris paid a conceal and
carry fine and our Board Chairman got fined for foul language in
the parking lot.
- Semantics is the study of word choices and we got a little
lesson from Sergeant Bill today. Of course the lesson cost
President Mau a bit of money but we now know not to say "cheap
deal" but instead to use the words "good value" when promoting
sales at Sertoma.
- Sergeant Jelinski had to give Bill a hard time for his
splash as a TV star last week.
- Veronica Jensen and John Raboin paid fines for being "gone"
at the same time.
-
Mike
Boen uses a BM signature at work. He could have gotten in
trouble for recommending that we get our pipe and drape funding
from the car dealers since they are offering zero percent.
Our Ginger Rogers got fined today--her initials are DRJ.
- Aaron and Anita were being kinky and got spanking fines
today.
