Program
SpeakersSertoma will be represented November 19th at the National Guard Armory when the Jaycees, Community Action and the Brainerd Dispatch present its 5th Distinguished Service Awards Banquet with social hour starting at 5:30 and dinner at 6:30. Our table will be there to cheer on our own Bonnie Cumberland when she accepts the Citizen of the Year Award. She will be joined by Mike Lambert, Outstanding Law Enforcement; Michelle Blong, Child Care; Sandy Cowell, Educator from Garfield School; Ruth Gogolin, Outstanding Senior Citizen; Cindy Clough, Outstanding Young Citizen; Dan Caughey Outstanding Young Farmer; Merle Gallant, Outstanding Fire Fighter; and Mandy Copa, Outstanding Youth. Mike Jay and DeAnn Barry gave us the background information on the program which was established in 1997 coordinating many individual efforts to recognize people who volunteer their time in Brainerd. Mike promised us some patriotic decorations, and encouraged businesses to also participate by purchasing gold, silver, or basic sponsorships which would provide tables either for their own employees or friends of the recipients. FAS 821-1130 Tami Webb The packages include publicity in brochures, programs and the newspaper and are a good deal.

Sertoman of the Day
Kristine WelleKristine Welle was the honored Sertoman of the Day. She recently moved to Brainerd and she is employed at Super Eight where they are in the middle of an extensive renovation project. She is very familiar with the area because her parents have had a summer place for 20 years. She also is a life-guard
at the YMCA . Her hobbies include working on her house, dart league, boating, snowmobiling and going into menıs bathrooms(just kidding but she did say she has done it enough to make it her most embarrassing moments). FAS 821-1130 Taylor Torgerson She went to college and got two degrees directly related to her current employment. She joined in July and was sponsored by Julie Degen. She describes herself as someone who is happy and content with her life right now.

Notes
Gary Walters is looking for some special people to get us started on what could be a marvelous new fund raiser next year--The Christmas Lights display. See Gary if you are willing to serve on the committee!

Photos Photos Everywhere Whew, over 70 new photos have been uploaded to the MSN Community Page where your hard working photographer is now storing photos. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the photographs of the Ditch Pick (subtitled Dave Clausenıs Bachelor Party and including some photos from the actual wedding dance) either click on this link or cut and paste this address in the browser window: http://communities.msn.com/BrainerdNoonSertoma/_whatsnew.msnw If you are looking for a name to match a face, Pam is also trying to take current head shots of all Sertoma members and providing an online directory at the same location.
