Roy Miller outdid himself choosing today's speaker, Tom Rohr who is the owner of Kwikstand Displays Inc. of Brainerd. Not only did he fulfill the criteria of local success story, but he also
provided one of the more humorous speeches we have had at Sertoma. Anyone who begins and ends
their speech with an Ole and Lena joke cannot be all bad, i n fact Tom was outstanding. Kwikstand came from Tom's background as a
"portable" person. His parents owned one of the few traveling drive-in movie operations and he learned early how to pack a great deal into a small space. He himself said,
"I build fancy lemonade stands." His idea which he originally described as a popcorn stand blossomed into a large scale international business that deals with newspapers, beverage companies, cell phone companies, supermarkets, restaurants, and even schools. The unique thing about Tom's business is that it is almost totally produced locally by several different companies. His company owns the molds and puts the final product into shipping form. Tom's wife is one of his four full-time employees and she heads up the sewing division that makes the covers that are part of the
product. Everyone in Sertoma has seen these products in many different environments. Thanks for a great speech and the success story, Tom.

IT'S UPDATE TIME AGAIN...
|
|
Have you changed your address in the past year or has the post office changed it for you? Did you go to a new email company provider? Help out the tech committee now by sending your updates in by email or
snail mail. Please send all new info to eglponys@brainerd.net or Pam Sachs, 10714 Squaw Point Road, Brainerd,
MN. 56401. If you take care of this now it will save taking the time at a meeting to write the information out and/or several phone calls from a tech committee member trying to update your info. Thanks for your cooperation.
