Dennis Lamberson from CLC was the Speaker of the Day One does not have to go to Minneapolis to find an exciting theater experience according to today's speaker, Dennis Lamberson from CLC. He was at Sertoma to issue a special invitation to all, "You are all invited to try out on December 13 and 14 for our production of Hello Dolly." After encouraging us to become theater buffs, Dennis went on to tell us a little bit about his program. Dennis Lamberson from CLC CLC is one of 5 two year colleges in the country that offers a degree in Technical Theater. They have the largest theater department in the 5 state area. Not only do they prepare students for careers in the theater, but also cruise ships and theme parks. Their budge which is $210,000 is not sponsored by the state, but instead is raised through revenue at the box office (90% and grants and gifts. The Geritol Frolics, an important part of their program draws a crowd from as far away as Canada and finances 10 scholar- ships. The upcoming holidays are being celebrated with a special production of "A Christmas Carol". The theater also has special programs for small children. February 14th is a special production that includes a party. Paul Koering, an usher seconded the notion that this is a unique community involvement.

Sertoman of the Day

Sertoman of the Day Ty Eigner was today's honored Sertoman. Ty is a brand new member who was brought into the club by his wife Erika. They are both with Tradition Mortgage and Ty's job title is account executive. He spent more time talking about his second job however, working in what seems to be the love of his life--hockey. Ty and Erika moved to Brainerd so that Ty could become the Brainerd H.S. Hockey Coach. He also coaches football and will coach softball this year. Both he and Erika were raised in the Apple Valley area and he attended college in Bowling Green on a hockey scholarship. He also played some minor league hockey before deciding that his future was somewhere else other than professional hockey. Ty enjoys coaching, golf, all other sports and hunting. His family is now confined to one excellent hunting dog, but he indicated that he and Erika were going to try for a hockey team of their own some day. Welcome to Sertoma Ty.
Note
Board meeting on Tuesday, November 21, saw four new members accepted including Jen Carver, Steven Christensen, Rick Skogen, and Kris Kellet. Three of these four were able to make the induction meeting held at noon that same day. President Mike Boen was proud to announce that our
membership total has now reached 172.
Cassie Gylland gave the final report on the funding of the Rookie Party. This year's group besides putting on a great party and giving away many fine door prizes, raised over $2,000 to put back into the club's treasury. Good job millennium rookies.
Some issues have been raised concerning the Sertoma Sunshine efforts. As a group we do want to acknowledge the good things that happen to the people in our club and provide moral support when things are not so sunny. Mary Marana, as one of the chaplains, as agree to be the coordinator of our efforts. Her numbers are as follows; 828-4539 or 829-8212. Please contact her if you feel a card or flowers are appropriate.
