Program
As a former teacher, Jerry Jensen was very convincing when he explained the widespread misconceptions about attention disorders. Many children who are currently classified ADHD are really suffering from one of 58 other disorders most commonly caused by poor sleep habits. Jerry and his non profit group have adapted some very comprehensive but expensive programs developed by NASA and other groups to improve concentration and focus for children. The program takes at least 50 hours to have permanent impact on the problem. It is very difficult to give them the skills to know what to pay attention to and what to ignore. Jerry began by explaining that Sertoma was a great organization but it seemed like the first time he went to a soccer game. He understood the scoring part but everything in between was chaos. Between buckets, fines, and Winter Wonderland he managed to give the members some good information about his program.
Thanks Matt Hanneken for taking notes.

Business Notes
"Imagine Yourself Debt Free" is a 13 week intensive program taught by Dave Ramsey via video that reaches families to communicate about money and equips them to beat debt and built wealth God's way. It is being offered through Trinity Lutheran Church soon. This program is for you if... Your credit cards are your emergency fund, your dog responds to the name "Ebay", you are intrigued by the word "plasectomy," you want to know what God says about money, you have to sell your house to put your kids through college, and stocks, bonds and mutual funds are friends you haven't met yet. This is an especially good program for young people. For more information including cost of materials and dates, see Dale Bolt. For more information on the church program go to www.daveramsey.com/etc/cms/church_programs_234.htmlc.

Congratulations to the Winter Wonderland Committee on a very successful preview party. Cathe Picek, Lori Rubin, Steve Augustinack, and Steve Mau are shown with President Korte about to take the first official look at the Winter Wonderland displays. In spite of the conflict with the awards ceremony, it was well attended by both Sertomans and sponsors. Pam Bye and Timber Mist did an excellent job of catering and the mashed potato bar was a huge success. Thanks to Santa Buford for his appearance at both the preview party and the Chamber Chow. This event was also one of the largest the Chamber has hosted and was well attended.

Rumor Corner
  • What happens on the bus stays on the bus--if you want to know the details ask the scary Sertoma lady herself--the tooth fairy. By the way she wanted to a do a victory lap today when Prez Korte congratulated her on two on time meetings in a row.
  • There is a Dallas Humphrey Virginia--he came to the meeting today!! Some people had actually put him in the Santa Claus realm--you think he might be out there somewhere but you really aren't sure.
  • Lori Rubin had to play pass the baby so she could give her announcement today. Jason is quite the ladies man already.
  • DAP is currently a seeker of truth and wisdom but he still had to pay his Mike Boen loves me fine today. Mike got a little wild with his progressive pin fine today--got the Dog Pound table this time.
  • Wealthy Cathy got to collect big time from the chairman guy who called her a "hogger".
  • Congratulations Kari and the wedding and hair color change.
  • The Fred and Barney Stones fine went to Bill Goers. He got even by getting up and doing his roving fine for Big Mike--had to do with a rusty tool.
  • Our Prez claims his job is sending him to Nord Dakota. HMM.
