The big news from the Regional Convention was the naming of Steve
Augustinack as Northern Minnesota District Sertoman of the Year.
We also received an award for having the most first timers at the
Convention. The bulletin (newsletter) was given a second place
award at the District level and we were recognized for Club
Excellence, Convention
Attendance, and our National Heritage
Program. The District Winner of the Sai Gau Scholarship was Jackie
McCall's daughter. Brainerd Noon Sertoma got a standing ovation
for their presentation of $6,000 to Camp Sertoma. Our new
International Director is Tim Haisel. The St. Cloud group
presented us with the traditional $1,000 check to help us with our
convention preparations. The minnow race in our Hospitality Suite
was very fun and profitable (with tips they took in $328). It was
"the place to be" and generated a great deal of interest in our
upcoming convention. President Mau was very impressed with Rory
Coit's presentation on the Convention and Rory himself thanked
everyone for their help with the Hospitality Suite. The pictures
show the traveling trophy for the newcomer's award and our new
Convention Gavel which will remain with our club until it is
passed on to the Sioux Falls group who prepare for 2009. The
membership of the Brainerd Noon Sertoma Club can look forward to a
fun-filled and exciting year getting ready for our convention at
Madden's, May 1st-3rd. Convention registration will soon be online
at www.greatin08.brainerd.com. (we already have 20 registrations).
Joe Schulte is co-chair of the event with Rory. |

| Greeter
Schedule |
| Remember:
As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10
minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find
their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate.
The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half
goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and
half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets.
Be there by 11:45 and call somebody to substitute for you if you
can't be there. |

| Sertoman of the Day |
One of our most active members was today's honored Sertoman. Tami
Webb has amassed many awards in the course of her 10 years in
Sertoma. She is on level seven Senator, was co-rookie of the year
as well as Sertoman of the Year and a Gold Coat Honor President to
mention just a few. Tami has been active on the District level and
her jobs in the Brainerd Noon Sertoma are too numerous to mention.
Currently she is in charge of our awards and she is District
Lieutenant Governor. Being a volunteer in the community is also an
important part of Tami's life and she remarked, "My number one
priority is volunteering." She moved from New Ulm to Brainerd to
sell cell phones and currently is Field Sales Director at the
Office Shop. Since starting there two years ago she has moved away
from the wireless aspects of her job and is now concentrating on
service agreements, equipment and office supplies. Office Shop has
an store in Brainerd and one in Aitkin that also includes Radio
Shack. Sertoma became an official part of her life when Lynn Franz
asked her to join. Tami has two children and she is very excited
about her almost nine grandchildren. Caption for Picture One of
Tami's outstanding moments in Sertoma was the 25th Anniversary
Party which occurred during her presidency. She is pictured with
Mayor Wallin. |

-
Miss Mary was in trouble everywhere she looked
today--advertising, pulling men's thingies at the Convention,
and helping Pam Bye dance on tables.
-
Dick Stoltman and Tom Krekow were trying to revive the leg's
contest--they broke out the shorts today.
-
It's almost May and Sue Slaybaugh is still waiting on the new
baby.
-
Darren got his helper Ron Morris into fine trouble today--we are
really trying to appreciate Ron coming to Darren's rescue and
getting us all a bill for dues.
-
President Mau and Chairman Clausen shared a room at the
Convention--Steve presented a Dear Dave note to the group to put
an end to their relationship.
-
Bill is glad that Jinny Haugen got out of the Pink Liquor Store
before they tore it down!
-
Love the new bald lip look on a certain banker, rumor has it he
has gone bald all over.
-
Poor Jeff Marchand will be glad when Bryan can start paying his
own promoting Cub Foods' fines. Buy your mother's day flowers at
Cub and head out to the Chapparal for the Mother's Day Buffet!!
-
Kari Barnes is excused from Pipe and Drape responsibilities--she
has to go and be the proud parent of the Student of the Semester
at Brainerd High School.
-
Wow, tables at Cragun's for one week have earned a whopping
$1500. President Mau acknowledged the Dog Pound and their
efforts to make this expanded program work.
