Program
Today our theme was pink. President Clausen was tickled pink because he got to hit the highlights of the May Board Meeting for our membership. Lowell Carlson and DeAnn Barry were added to our membership with no drops. We accepted to transfers with Paulas Cotten replacing Linda Turpin and Sue Slaybaugh taking Kevin Wroolies spot.

Many thanks to Karen Owen and Scott Fisher who have volunteered for pipe and drape clean-up. Gus reported that we are making progress with presenting the Winter Wonderland to the businesses in the area. According to Steve Mau who talked about Dubuque, "The bar was set very high for us in 2008."

Joe Schulte - Centurion Award Joe Schulte was in the pink today because he received his Centurion Award. Although this award is given for certain Sertoma activities, it does not begin to acknowledge the tremendous amount of work that Joe has given to our club. Brainerd Noon Sertoma appreciates all of your hard work and dedication Joe.

Pam pinked it up when she announced the new Sertoma Photo Gallery on our very own website. We had been postiBiggest Loserng pictures on a different server. Anyone who has "historical" photos that they would like to add to the album, please contact Pam. She will scan them and upload them hopefully with an appropriate caption.

The group that formed to be the biggest loser was blushing a pretty pink color when Joyce Anderson announced that those that have reported in have lost 75 pounds. They all received their official t shirt today.

And finally, our beloved Pooch (Mark Puschinsky) was PRETTY IN PINK Mark Puschinsky - Selling tickets for Swinging Sertoman Concerttoday in hopes that people would notice him and buy a ticket for the Swinging Sertoman concert next Sunday at Franklin Arts Center at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are only $10 and benefit the Crossing Arts Alliance. Paul Gropper has promised to fine everyone who comes to next week's meeting that has never heard our great Sertoma Ambassador group perform, so get out there on Sunday and see the guys. (Italics for the pictures)

Thanks Dave Bergin for taking notes.  Last week we left off part of Cheryal Lee Hills name in the thank you but she did a great job also.

Announcements
We need lots and lots of help on Saturday. The flags need to go up, especially since the Governor's wife will be in town to enjoy them. Mark Korte, Jeff Olson, Dave Clausen, Nancy Hallam, Dave Burggraph, Rory Coit, Gene Farone and Bill Goers stepped in to fill some last minute gaps. Someone needs to volunteer to be in charge of the last flag team!!!! Thanks to Lowell Carlson and Ernie Fredrichs for their hole drilling efforts last week. Tami Webb is manning the booth at the mall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Armed Forces Day and she still needs help. Call her immediately if you can spend some time in the booth telling people about Sertoma.
Karen Owen is developing protocol sheets for committees. If you received a survey, please fill it out and return it to her as soon as possible. If you are a committee chair who wasn't at the meeting, contact Karen to get your survey mailed or faxed to you.
Wanted one more committee member to join Joyce Anderson and Veronica Jensen working on the Silent Auction at the Mariucci Fiesta. We need tons of donations large and small to make this fund raiser successful so contact Joyce or Vern with your contribution.

Rumor Corner
  • Pam, Kathy and Bonnie all vote to have a scheduled meeting without a program or a Sertoman of the Day just to give people a chance to socialize.
  • Boysnberries Strawberries got an ad in today--Farmer Bob Nibbe had to pay a fine.
  • The pink shirt was the major topic of conversation today. Charlie Bartels decided to the Pooch's Coming Out In Pink director. Clausen mentioned it and got criticized for losing the sleeves from his sweater and acting "hot".
  • Fiduciary is spelled M O N E Y according to Dave Bergin.
  • Taco Dave the male prostitute did not work at Taco John's under the auspices of Kelly's Services.
  • However, volunteering to do flags on Saturday morning in spite of the fact that it will make him late to his grandpa's 90th birthday makes up for all Dave's nonsense today!
  • Support Melody Bank in the Arthritis Walk.
  • Dave Burggraph paid his $2 fine because his cell phone rang and it was the President wanting to know if he could employ any illegal aliens at his new Vacationland Fun Park.
