Program
TributeHighlights from the Regional Convention held this past week and attended by fourteen of our members was the program today.

Mike Boen was named District Sertoman of the Year.

Our newsletter team was congratulated on a second place district finish and a first place regional finish. Thanks Pam Sachs, Midwest Captions, Ty and Erika Eigner, Karla Nelson, Cassie Gylland, and Bob Nibbe Ty and Erica are the proud parents of a new baby boy, Peter. Congratulations.

The Sioux Falls contingent is still working hard to be named as the largest Sertoma Club. Our five state region has 3483 members and 275 of them attended the convention.

BannerOur club has the GEM Award for adding new members and a brand new banner because of our contributions to the foundation.Fas 829-7761 Steve Augustinack Of the $24,000 raised at the Foundation Breakfast, $4,000 went in to the Happajoki fund and our club contributed $3500 to the overall total.

Camp Confidence Sertoma awarded us and others who have contributed to their success a patch for our banners.

Our new International Director is Patrick McCardle, a judge from Nebraska. Some plain speaking brought out some of the problems with Sertoma International which have been solved or are being worked on by the new management. Some ideas that seem to have some merit include having the regional convention earlier in the year.

Plan on attending the International Convention in Toronto--see Tami Webb for details. Next year’s regional convention is in Minot.

Notes
Dave ClausenGEM Good enthusiastic members are hard to find. We get 30 new members a year and only a few of them get to the GEM status. Fas 829-7761 Rick Cole. Today Sertoma congratulated Dave Clausen and presented him with a plaque for his efforts. Jim Potvin was also awarded a beautiful plaque for achieving his Tribune status. Keep up the good work fellows.

The Lunneborg twins are still hospitalized but doing well.

Elections will be held two weeks from today.

Happy Birthday Les Franz.

Mike Howard volunteered to be our local “sex kitten” since we didn’t want any gender bias in our club. Our President was trying to convince us that that title had been conferred on our International Director Sheila Redding. Anyone who has met Sheila is really wondering now.

Find a Sawbuck Corner:
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond.
Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the current photographs or check out the new online directory go to:  http://communities.msn.com/BrainerdNoonSertoma/_whatsnew.msnw
