Natalie Saatoff“Beautiful,” “welcoming” and “warm and inviting” were some of the Noon Sertoma members reaction to the newly expanded YMCA facilities as presented by Natalie Saatoff, Resource and Marketing Director. Natalie’s presentation was three fold. She put up an excellent board display, showed us a wonderful video about the 150th Anniversary of the YMCA, and then presented “what’s new” at the Brainerd facility. Natalie came to this job 6 months ago from 12 years in a similar position in St. Paul. May13-19th is a special celebration of the new facility with excellent opportunities for joining with bonuses. Visit the new administrative office off the beautiful lobby and sign up to use the aquatic center, the multi-purpose studio for exercise or bring the kids in to see what is new and special for them. Kid’s Corner includes a castle play structure (built with donated labor from the Mid Minnesota Builders crew), a children’s restroom and carpeted play area. The swim area includes a water slide but kids must be 41 inches to slide. Fas 829-7761 Lisa Shattuck The Multi-Purpose teen center is open on school night from 3:00-7:00 p.m. One could even lineup a weight training session with our own Dave Pundt. The older part of the building is now undergoing extensive renovations also which should YMCAbe done in time for the busiest part of the summer season. The new women’s locker room includes swim suit drying while the remodeled men’s room in the older part will include TV’s. The history video traced many things back to their YMCA roots including invention of basketball, volleyball and racquetball; the starting point for organizations including Boy Scouts, Toastmasters, Gideons and the first ever African American organization; and the first indoor pool. The YMCA serves more young people than any other charitable organization and is 17 million members strong. They are dedicated to serving the entire person and the entire community. Sertoma has donated $5,000 to the completion of this project and everyone should take the opportunity to see how well they have spent their Sertoma dollars. Pick up the new group exercise and pool schedule or call with questions if you can't stop.

Notes
Thanks to the social committee for organizing another successful Ditch Pick These guys were the first hardy souls out in the heavy wind and cold weather to clean things up again. Sandra Ehrich won the picnic table.Of course the newly appointed Sertoma Sex Kitten got to pick the ditch with two very good looking women. Be sure to click on the photo link below to see the new Ditch Pick photos.

Tom Rosenberger shared a daybrightener with us. He visited a kindergarten class recently and was very intrigued with two of the definitions of "retired" that he got from the kids. You are either enjoying or looking forward to "being tired of your job and wanting to quit" or "losing your marbles so you can't do your job anymore and you have to quit".

Find a Sawbuck Corner:
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond.
Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the current photographs or check out the new online directory go to:  http://communities.msn.com/BrainerdNoonSertoma/_whatsnew.msnw
