Program
The real pro of Mariucci Fiestas, Chuck BartelsLast week Pam Sachs included her Mariucci memories in the newsletter for those new members who had never been involved before. This week's program was presented by the real pro of Mariucci Fiestas, Chuck Bartels. When Dick Endres got John Mariucci involved in Camp Confidence, things were still pretty primitive out there. John was already a well known hockey great in Minnesota and as a member of the Board, he felt that the Classic Tournaments which were being held to raise money for camp should include an event which would draw people to the camp-the feed was born. John was a character and working on the early Fiesta's was definitely an exciting experience. The garlic flew, the food was cooked in many different places and little attention was paid to details. John's philosophy was "Add garlic until you think you have enough and then double it." According to Chuck, "What amazed me that people would eat all that stuff "(not the real word -editor's censor). The Italian temperament was evident especially in the making of the meatballs and bread sticks. It has been a learning process. It is much easier now that facilities are all at camp. Chuck encouraged more people to sign up for Thursday afternoon and Friday morning when the latest version of the bread stick will come off the press. John Mariucci knew he was dying of cancer and personally asked Chuck to keep the dinner going--Chuck's commitment included his efforts to be a policeman and make each dinner better than the last one in terms of quality fresh food and service. Chuck also thanked Milo Johnson for his efforts in getting the food donated and Paul Gropper for being willing to organize the volunteers. Ginny Haugen Segler needs donations for the Silent Auction.

Sertoman of the Day

Jenny BakerThis is Jenny Baker, a new Sertoman who definitely exhibits a zest for life. She is a Certified Massage Therapist and Body Wrap Technician. She grew up in the Brainerd area and counts as her family her mom, dad, a brother and a sister. She was raised on a cattle ranch and decided to take up genetic engineering. Her college career was affected by a series of severe automobile accidents that started her on her current business venture. She was so impressed with the work that her therapist did in healing her that she went back to school for it herself. Her sponsor was Paul Gropper. Her hobbies include travel, boating, camping and "getting muddy". You must ask Jenny the next time you see her why her Sertoma nickname is now "Hot Pockets".

Notes
The theme of George Moore's prayer today bears repeating--it is the season for graduations and as Sertomans we wish to extend our congratulations to all the friends and relatives of Sertomans who are "matriculating". May you find success and happiness on your personal road to the future.
