First Annual Membership Meeting was called to order at 12 PM

At Large Directors: Six positions need to be filled for the 2009 – 2010 Board of Directors. The top three names with the most votes will have two-year terms and next three names will have one-year terms.

The names of the people running for At Large Directors were presented to the membership and included: Karen Owen, Scott Fisher, Dale Bolt, Tad Hoskins, Carole Paulson, Laura Beilke, Steve “Gus” Augustinack, Darren Larson and Sandra Ehrich.

The written ballot results were:
Scott Fisher, Karen Owen and Sandra Ehrich – two-year terms
Darren Larson, Dale Bolt and Carole Paulson – one-year terms
A “blind” show of hands vote was taken on a run off between Carole Paulson and Tad Hoskins who tied for the sixth position.

Third VP Position: Two names were on the ballot to fill the 3rd VP position: Jim Mayne and Jeff Fitch. Each candidate made remarks about their goals and focuses and both candidates are very qualified. Ballots were counted and Jeff Fitch was elected to fill the position of 3rd VP.

Articles of Incorporation: John Raboin reviewed the changes made to the Articles of Incorporation and noted that many of the items were moved to the By-Laws. He mentioned that when the Articles were created in 1979 they were very detailed. The changes made will make them more streamlined.

A motion was made by Darren Larson to approve, 2nd by Scott Fisher, there was no discussion and the motion passed with no objections.

The revised Non-Profit Articles of Incorporation of Brainerd Area Sertoma Club, Inc. Will now be sent to the state of Minnesota.

A motion was made by Bryan Jelinski, 2nd by LoAnn Reponen, motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 1:50 PM.

Rumor Corner
  • It was big fish story time at the Dog Pound table--mostly seemed to be catching crappy tales.
  • Brian Kirkpatrick was "finding himself" today and it looked really kinky since he was patting his anatomy in the process.
  • Kari Satre was sad today--it was her first day driving after her broken leg and she had to leave her tall dark handsome chauffeur at home.
  • Hi from Anna Gorecky who is still working with the film people in New York City.
  • Aww we had to change our official address from Harold's Club to John Raboin's office. John was tempted to leave it in for lawsuits--they'd have a heck of a time finding us.
  • Anita Traveca is a behind closed shades kind of girl--actually she needed the shades closed to cut down on the bald head glare from the Dog Pound.
  • Our Prez was apologizing for the lack of printed ballots--but hey we didn't have candidates last week. Besides we all had to "put our heads down on the table" and vote in the Board runoff contest between Carole Paulson and Tad Hoskins. Steve Mau would have made a great kindergarten teacher, he got cooperation!!!! Brian suggested the put your head on the table and vote process to determine our Minnesota Senator!!
  • Mike Boen got a license to exercise his chauvinism today big time. He fined all the illegals in Sertoma--the women first of course. And then he was talking about Squaw Sertoma when the separate organization used to be La Sertoma.
  • No senior discount at General Rental no business from the old farts was Brian's sergeant message to the big guy.
  • Jeff Fitch and Carol Winegar got inhaling and shooting fines-not drug related of course.
  • President Korte was trying to promote a delegation to go to the hospital and set up Pipe and Drape around Tad's bed!!
  • Click on the Sertoma Sign to see Pam's Fun Fotos from the Ditch Pick. Great food catered from Cub, lots of garbage bags filled and a whole lot of flag work done by a fun crew!!
