Program
Julia Sullivan, Brainerd Noon Sertoma President, conducted her last meeting today. Julia has taken a new job in Omaha, Nebraska, and is looking forward to joining Sertoma and becoming a rookie again while she tearfully took farewell of a club that will miss her energy and devotion. Julia took the time at today's meeting to personally thank everyone who has contributed to making her term as president very successful. She has several appreciation awards and a presidential plaque award that will be presented at the next meeting which will be held at the Pipe and Drape Set Up at the Civic Center next week. Julia remarked that she would like to give everyone in the club an award for being a wonderful part of her Sertoma life. Tami Webb, standing in for Mark Korte who was among the people taking advantage of spring break week, presented Julia with her President's Award. Kathy Williams talked about the "advanced warning" she had received when she worked at the Chamber about the wonderful asset to the community that was moving to Brainerd from Iowa when John and Julia arrived on the Brainerd scene. The club gave Julia a standing ovation in recognition of her outstanding achievements as a Sertoman. Les Franz accepted the Presidential Plaque for the Swinging Sertomans who also received a standing ovation for their 20 year contribution to the Club. Jules concluded the program with a personal invitation to all to attend her farewell party which will be held at the Moose after the Pipe and Drape at Rolfings on Friday, March 28th.

Greeter Schedule
Remember: As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody to substitute for you if you can't be there.

Rumor Corner
  • Welcome Back Bill OHara!
  • Joyce is back at Bremer at Cub and is making a fashion statement for Mary's benefit. See her for all your banking needs.
  • Charlie Bartels is now dealing in transparent apparel. HMMM and I bet he hopes Anna would like to buy some.
  • Beth Burnard paid a happy fine today--for the first time we now have 5 captains for the flag teams for this season.
  • Tom Rosenberger paid his happy fine because he is headed south on vacation. Gerry paid a happy fine because he was happy to see him go.
  • Chuck Isackson paid a I am proud to be the Dad of the guy on the radio fine today.
  • Anna has a problem with where she puts her vibrating phone when she is driving down the road.
  • George was not curious today--he was insulting and poor Amy from Grand Casino was the object of his insults.
  • The Dog Pound got in trouble for lying to their wives, dragging new members off the streets, making funny "cheek" sounds, and not being nicer to returning attorneys!!
  • Chuck Brenny has changed his name to Sue! We expect to see him dressed in black and carrying a guitar to Sertoma soon.
  • Shame Shame Shame--Craig Dunmire had to pay for forgetting his greeter duties even though Pam S pointed the sign out to him particularly last week!
  • Bryan Jelinski was convinced today's "fishy" dinner was actually a loon-eagle combination. Speaking of fish, Sue Slaybaugh outdid her mighty outdoorsy husband in Hawaii by catching the biggest fish on their charter boat trip.
