Program Highlights from the Board Meeting |
- From June to March we have accumulated 2,337 volunteer
hours.
- Maddens and Grand Casino are the two local choices for hosts
for the Regional Convention.
- Beth Burnard and Bursch Travel are working on the cruise
bids.
- The Board voted $2,000 as a budget to promote our bid.
- Pipe and Drape will be expanding through cooperation with
the Bemidji Club. We also have an opportunity to buy some IRS
seized property, i.e. pipe and drape equipment. We have been
doing Pipe and Drape for 17 years.
- The lights project is moving forward. A professional from a
company that leases lighting displays will be here to consult
with the committee.
- Park Board Meeting results—they will present a
recommendation to the City Council not to accept the land
donation. They are planning on developing a big regional park in
the area in the future. The issue is not dead yet—Kevin Goedker
and Gary Walters are working on it.
Thanks Pam Sachs for taking notes!!!!

upcoming weeks which means that everyone needs to volunteer
some time for these big events including Rolfings, Women’s
Expo, and the MMBA Show. We are allowed to leave the set up

Schedule |
| Remember:
Greeters (Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting
people at the door and getting the ticket money counted and
divided with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for
the social committee's budget). As greeter you have several
duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job
to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a
ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be
divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Current Club
Treasurer and half goes to the Club President along with the
bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you
can't. Call Patty Hartman. |

| Sertoman of
the Day |
Last
week’s Sertoman of the Day, Mary Marana, brought this week’s
honored Sertoman into the ranks 10 years ago. She may regret it
just a little bit since the title of Pam Bye’s speech could have
been, “Whose embarrassing moment?” Her regional convention story
was a bit more embarrassing for Mary and Carol Paulson than it was
for herself.
Pam and her husband Randy have owned the Chapparal for 15
years. They added the Bunkhouse and Timber Mist to the complex to
help them to deal with their ever expanding on and off site
catering business. We have had many wonderful parties at this
facility since it opened. Being an integral part of the business,
Pam had to admit that she didn’t have much time for hobbies. In
fact she had to list being a wrestling, football, hockey, soccer
and track Mom as her pastimes. She has two children in high
school. Pam joined Sertoma as a business networking opportunity
and to do something for the community at the same time. |
