| Mike Howard in his
capacity as head of the Pipe and Drape Committee presented at
today's meeting. He was ably assisted by Deb Hodapp from
Camp Confidence and Reed Campbell. Not only did the
group show us how simple it is to put up pipe and drape but
reminded us . . . "to come late, to leave early, but to
just show up for set-ups and take-downs." Mike also
quoted Rick Besmehn who once said, "We don't sell Tootsie
Rolls, we do Pipe and Drape." This enterprise
brings in about $28,000 a year, 10% of which goes to Camp
Confidence which handles all the details.
This brought us to Deb's part of the program. She is the
contact person who handles bills, schedules the show dates,
receive the payments, keeps the records and forwards the money
to the Sertoma treasurer. She was very enthusiastic
about this year as it should show a marked improvement
in proceeds due to the growth of a couple of the shows. First
set-up is at Rolfings on 17th-20th. Set up is the 17th
after 5:00 p.m.
