Tech CommitteeDan Meyer and Steve Augustinack presented the information about the tech team at today's meeting. Dan and Steve along with Jim Park formed the nucleus of the team that set up the Sertoma web page and spearheaded the drive which started last fall  to get everyone communicating electronically.  They were later joined by Pam Sachs who works with them as part of her duties as a member of the newsletter and publicity committees.   The purpose of the tech committee which was originally to set up the framework of an internal and external web communication    system,  has expanded to include maintaining a uniform updated database of members and email advertising (see Bob Sherman or Pam Sachs if you are interested in reaching over 100 Sertomans with your message).  Money generated through advertising and postage savings hopefully will be earmarked for acquiring new tech tools for the use of the club.  Dan had kudos galore for the hard work of Ann and Bob Sherman in setting up the web page and being the focal point for all the information  posted to the pages.  The tech team  is hoping to incorporate clickable email messages, choices of roster formats to print out, and a self-updating database.  They are also looking for volunteers to collect and organize the information to fill in the gaps.  Areas that need work are committee descriptions, history, charities, and awards.  These people would also be responsible for quarterly updates if necessary.  The last part of the program directed us to www.sertoma.org where the national web page is under construction.  If you wish to enter to the members only section, you need to know that our club number is 10595. (On Thursday they presented to the Morning Club)
