Program
The cooksThe program at today’s Sertoma was a mishmash of things. It included a long presentation by Mike Howard of the cook’s at Camp Sertoma. This year 2432 meals had to be prepared for the 85 kids and staff that are there for the weeklong format. Sertomans from New Ulm, Sauk Rapids, Northfield, St. James and Brainerd. The group also entertained us with a camp song. Then Gary reported on his attendance at the Governor’s conference. At the present time Sioux Falls has 179 members to our 177 (with the addition of Jeremy Horn and Tracy McFarland at today’s meeting). He reminded us that we are members of the biggest region in the country. One of the goals of Tom Brush incoming president is to try and correct the national trend towards loss of membership. His theme is 9, 9 new members for every club to reach 1,000. The other major goal fas 829-7761 Gary Loge is to streamline with the combination of smaller clubs, districts and regions. He then got one of his little demonstrations going to talk about the purpose of Sertoma: business networking, raise money for good causes, learn more about local issues, help communities, enjoy social events and develop friendships.

Notes
official greetersFor he first time in a long long time we had the three official greeters on hand. Thanks Kristine Welle, Kevin Wroolie and Tami Webb for being “Greeter’s Extraordinaire”.
Rumors were flying at today’s meeting. Does Pam really have a job selling pull tabs at Ernie’s? Does Karla dance part time at the Blue Ox? Did Brian Kirkpatrick leave early because he lost all his friends? Did Paul Gropper go on the Builder’s fishing trip without a license? Is Dale Bolt really too selfish to share his pepper?
Mumble Choir LeaderThis is the Mumble Choir Leader (the group of cooks from Camp Sertoma) in action. They purported to be serious rivals for the Swinging Sertomans but probably need a little more practice time to catch up. This wonderful guy had some little girl at camp come with her camera to get her picture taken with Santa Claus.
Thanks to the tear down crew at the Quilters Show. Thanks also to Mike Boen and Jim Potvin for having lunch at Breezy Point today and doing the takedown there.
Be sure and patronize the brat sale at County Market next week when you are looking for lunch since our meeting is cancelled.
A short rookie party planning meeting was held. See Curt Hawkinson if you wish to participate in this elite group. Any rookies that didn’t help with last year’s party need to get on board for this one, plus all new members.
Rookies, remember to introduce yourself to the executive officers--president, vice presidents, secretary, treasurer. If they do not remember your name and greet you, they must pay a $1 fine.
Thanks Todd from Syvantis for the donation of Front Page to help with the Sertoma and Camp Confidence Web Pages.fas 829-7761 Pam Sachs
Thanks Grand Casino for the donation of a hot tub suite. If you bring in a new member this quarter your name goes in the hat and you will be eligible to win this prize. We need to work very hard to get more new members. Gary is still planning on paying big bucks if his weight loss doesn't meet the number of new members.
Philosophy:
According to Dale Bolt “Some of us just show up and some of us come prepared."
According to Dave Clausen “Due to economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been temporarily turned off:"
Find a Sawbuck Corner:
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond.
Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the current photographs or check out the new online directory go to:  http://communities.msn.com/BrainerdNoonSertoma/_whatsnew.msnw
