Program
Tidbits from Toronto was the title of today’s program presented by First VP Tami Webb and President Gary Walters who both attended the International Convention held in Toronto. The tone of the convention was their first topic of discussion. Although they agreed that all Sertomans share many of the same issues, theyfelt that the multiversity of people in attendance created an atmosphere very different from the friendly rivalry evident at our regional conventions. One of those issues that the Great Plains Region was very concerned with was the attempt to streamline and cut costs by eliminating those local regional meetings. According to Tami, “Great Plains is the strongest region with the most members and we objected to this idea strenuously.” Other issues were loss of membership, too little participation, and changing the fiscal year. Sheila Redding won her bid for office and is looking forward to next year’s convention in Albuquerque where we should have eleven delegates in attendance to support her run for the gold. Tom Brush, the new International President, intends to visit us in Brainerd according to Gary. Tami and Gary both stressed the idea of getting to 188 members before the end of his term in office. Everyone would like to see Gary earn his gold coat and Tami be the president of the largest Sertoma Club. These personal honors notwithstanding, both stressed the idea that this competition and fun is what makes our local club unique and more people means more opportunities for all. Gary closed by saying, “Tami represented the club very well and through her social skills made some excellent networking connections.”

Notes
CherylWe said goodbye to our favorite waitress Cheryl who is off to a new job at Applebys with fas 829-7761 Bill Mitsch a pail of tips from Sertoma and best wishes from all of us.
Brat sale report by George Moore including big thanks to all who helped and congratulations on making $410. Fas 829-7761 Bob Sherman. Fifty dollars was added to that total thanks to Bob Nibbe and his idea for a tip jar. George also thanked Todd Dunlapp for the great sign.
Todd was the topic of conversation also when Rory Coit presented the report on the miniature golf social. Kevin Goedker one of the members of the hardworking social committee is pictured lost in the "rough". This was a great event with 20 kids under the age of 12 enjoying a round on the club. Todd has served as chairman of the social committee through two great years and he is handing the job over the Kari Robinson at the end of this summer. We all need to express our gratitude to Todd for all the wonderful opportunities we have had to socialize and become better friends. We hope he has enjoyed it half as much as we have.
Find a Sawbuck Corner:
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond.
Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the current photographs or check out the new online directory go to:  http://communities.msn.com/BrainerdNoonSertoma/_whatsnew.msnw
