made to resolve this issue.

| Sertoman of the Day |
DeAnn
Barry presented this inaugural event as Executive Director of
the Senior Citizen's Center. She polled the audience about
buying donuts and thanked everyone for their support. Almost
everyone is aware of this on-going fund raiser for the seniors.
DeAnn thanked the Sheriff for helping to make them. She
encouraged everyone to call her if they would like to volunteer
or get their donut frosting degree. New things happening include
the new tennis league started by Board Member Jim Erickson.
Triad is another group that looks at Seniors and Safety.
Brainerd Lakes for a Lifetime is part of their mission. The Rib
Dinner is a huge fundraiser and the details are in the
announcements. Branson on the Road is coming up on December 6th.
As director of a non-profit, she feels that she is not
contributing as much to Sertoma as many of the other members,
but she feels that the two organizations need to be connected.
Membership to the Center is $15 per year that includes the
newsletter which is sponsored by Lakes Printing. Their help with
selling the advertising means that this full colored document is
packed with information. Well over 1300 members currently belong
and the numbers grow every year. LASAC Mission states that they
strive to provide "a place where mature citizens can meet and
participate in activities, classes, programs and services." They
strive to improve quality of life for their members. Phenomenal
homemade crafts are available from 10-4 Monday through Friday at
their gift center. Every wondered what to do with all those
event cards you receive? The senior center recycles them into
"new" cards each one of which is a work of art. DeAnn concluded
her speech by saying "Healthy strong non profits balance out our
community. Thanks to the business community for realizing how
important non profits are for the area." |

Of
Note |
Keep
Craig Dunmire in your prayers--he is having tests at Rochester
this week. Mary Marana is also doing well after some surgery.
Our sponsorship committee has been very busy and we received
many thank you's today. Donations included Relay for Life, a
sponsored trip for a student, a contribution to READ, a
contribution to the Pequot Lakes Grad Blast, money to support
the senior nutrition program at the Senior Center, and our
annual Fiesta efforts. Special thanks to Mark Korte for his MC
duties was included in the overall thank you to the club for
making the Fiesta and the Classic a huge success.
LoAnn welcomed Dale Bolt and Lori Ukkelberg to her leadership
team as Board Member and Sergeant |

Business Notes |
Joe Schulte and his committee introduced the new format
for "Sertoman of the Month" The idea sheet contains an
expanded business section to encourage the new members
to share company information with the club. Things like
promotional videos, handouts and past experiences will
make this a very interesting and useful tool for
networking.
