Today's Program was a quiz presented by our very own awards lady
and former President Tami Webb. Tami prepared the following quiz
to help old and new members understand the importance of our
awards program. She remarked, "Awards are about being proud of our
club and not necessarily just about personal achievement." Tami
explained the requirements for the GEM (Good Enthusiastic Member
Award). The various levels of achievement are explained on the
International
Website and on
our very own web
page. The club is due for a database update and when that
is completed, there are plans for a new Honor Roll page that will
list the members of our club who have achieved awards. For example
leading the list will be people like Charlie Bartels, Tami Webb,
Kathy Williams, Bob Ehrich, and Dave Burggraff, many of whom are
in double digits when it comes to accumulated honors. |

| The pipe and drape order is in--thanks to
the hardworking committee and especially Kari Barnes,
Scott Fisher and Steve Mau for an outstanding effort. Even

Sullivan/Tami Webb are on board. Dates are March 9th
Aitkin, March 24th, Princeton, March 22-25

announcement of times and dates--but get these on your
calendar now. |

up for Sertoman of the Day. She remarked, "You do not know
how many times someone asks me to ask a person to sign up for
Sertoman of the Day so they can find out more about them." Get
your name on that list, everyone could be asking about you! |
| Look on your local KARE 11 listings to

| Greeter
Schedule |
| Remember:
As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10
minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find
their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate.
The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half
goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and
half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets.
Be there by 11:45 and call somebody to substitute for you if you
can't be there. |

| Sertoman of the Day |
We
met one of our youngest members today, Jamie Arvig. His concluding
remark is the epitome of reasons to become involved in Sertoma. He
said, "Sertoma is a good fit for someone who is interested in
meeting people and helping others."
Jamie works as account manager at Netera Communications which
is located in Baxter in the old Lutheran Social Services building
behind Home Depot). The company which was founded by his father
presently employs 10 people who are providing phone, Internet,
T-1m VikO and email hosting services. Since he has been involved
since the beginning he counts his employment as 1 1/2 years.
Jamie is married to his wife Bridget who fortunately is from
Maple Grove and was not around to witness his 7th grade most
embarrassing moment. They have one young son. Jamie is a golfer
and has even been certified as an instructor and has connections
to many local golf areas. He enjoys all outdoors activities
including snowboarding, wakeboarding, boating, fishing and
hunting. His sponsor was Paul Heinlen and he certainly proves that
the diversity of ages and backgrounds in Sertoma really works. |
