Program
Two of our members were featured today at Sertoma rather than bringing in a program.
Tami WebbOur main speaker was Tami Webb who was on one of her official “visits” to the Brainerd Noon Sertoma Club in her capacity as District Governor. Tami shared news from the North Minnesota District which is the largest one in Sertoma.

We are still the largest Sertoma Club in the World with 175 members; but not by much—Sioux Falls is only a few members behind. Let’s go out and invite some new members into our club. Bemidji Sertoma, sponsored by our Club, is having some troubles keeping their members; they are back down to 15 and struggling.

Hopefully their new pipe and drape program will help them promote membership. Tami explained what her job entailed and invited everyone to participate in upcoming conventions.

Brainerd Sertoma ClubShe was wearing her “famous” extremely large governor’s coat which belonged to her mentor, Mr. Sertoma-Jon Haappajoki. Tami feels that her success in Sertoma is directly related to Jon’s influence.

Dave Burggraph and Mike Howard represented the Camp Sertoma Club and accepted the $1.000 donation made from the North Minnesota District.

Brian Lehman talked about the bell ringing contest. First he thanked everyone who rang bells. He explained that all of the volunteer hours ( 423 Service Club, 295 Businesses, 185 Churches, and 140 Independent) totaled 950 hours and reduced the percentage of paid ringers needed to 9 %. The Army raised $94,000 for local causes.
Thanks for Taking Notes Gary Walters !!!!

Tom Rosenberger thanked Steve Rose for his contribution to the Shoes for Haiti Fund. Tom and his wife work hard each year to raise $10,000 to help 2000 kids get shoes so that they can walk to school. They have been involved in this mission for several years and appreciate all of the help Sertomans have been in making this possible.

Greeter Schedule

Remember: Greeters (Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting people at the door and getting the ticket money counted and divided with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for the social committee's budget). As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Current Club Treasurer and half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you can't. Call Patty Hartman.
