| Bob Slaybaugh, who
wears many hats including his work with Camp Sertoma spoke to
the group about the JayCees $100,000 Fishing Extravaganza.
This is the 10th anniversary of this great fund-raising and
community development project. Bob talked about the national
and international recognition the project has gotten in such
faraway places as England and Germany and here at home most
recently in Field and Stream magazine. Bob especially thanked
all the Sertomans who have been involved both as volunteers
and business people. "This fishing tournament is
successful only because it takes place in the Brainerd Lakes
Area," said Bob. He continued, "You couldnąt do
this tournament in Minneapolis or anywhere else". |

Sertoman of the Day
|
|
Mike Howard was the Sertoman of the Day. Mike
has been a member of Sertoma for over two years. He is a
native of Brainerd whose parents ran Sleepy Hollow Resort and
his father was also a construction worker. He graduated
from the Minnesota School of Business and has worked at several
jobs before starting his own business. His wife's name is
Barb and they are both very proud of their 23 year old son Jon
who is going into teaching.
