Board Minutes
Our membership stands at 154 with the addition of
three new members (one is a replacement for Amy
Doyle). Welcome Kevin Oslin,
Ryan Carey, Brandon Knowles, and JJ Levenske.
New Member Orientation will now include a survey
that will help the rookies decide on a volunteer
interest. President Reponen hopes this will
encourage the sponsors to mentor them in these
activities and will give the new members an
immediate sense of ownership that will keep them in
the club.
The club recognition forms are absolutely necessary!
These are part of our international level
participation.
Time and talent surveys will also be issued to the
membership. This will help to streamline activities
and make things more efficient.
The new sound system at Bonanza has a few bugs--they
are working on getting it fixed.
Vox Pop was discussed. Something will be published
in the newspaper to explain that we did not "forget"
the flags. The ability to put out flags in November
is severely limited mainly because of the weather.
There is a new project to put hearing systems into
the last two schools in the district. This isn't in
the budget, but Scott Fisher will be checking on how
to get this accomplished.
Mike Boen shared the advertising for Winter
Wonderland. Thanks to BL Broadcasting for all they
do to support this project.
The following people were recognized for their
Volunteerism: 50 Hours: Amie Anderson, Gary Loge,
Dave Clausen, George Moore, Karla Nelson, Ted
Anderson 100 Hours: Milo Johnson, Anita Travica,
Jeff Fitch, Brenda Kelley, Joyce Frid 200 Hours
David Pundt 300 Hours Tad Hoskins 500 Hours Andi

LoAnn began by having everyone who helped
set up stand for recognition today. Lori
Rubin discussed the preview party. Arboretum

Business Expo & Holiday Extravaganza is
Thursday, December 3 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. At

group shots – couples). Winter Wonderland
will be doing Santa photos--talk to Lori
Rubin if you can help.. Tickets, signs and
posters are available--see Cathe Picek.
Thanks to everyone who has signed up for
jobs at WW so far this year. There are some
spots open for next week. Please
go on the website and check the schedule
to see if you can fill one of them. We would
really like the opening weekend to a
success.

| Greeter
Schedule |
| Remember:
As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10
minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find
their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate.
The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half
goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and
half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets.
Be there by 11:45 and call somebody to substitute for you if you
can't be there. |

Note |
Special thanks to Gus and Pam for all they do to make the meetings
go smoothly--from President LoAnn.
Good Luck Dick Stoltman, our chamber representative, who is going
to attend his first event tomorrow!
Food for thought--some of the Rotarians think of us as "rude"
because we do not give our speakers our full attention.
Welcome new member Deb Riley.
Apologies to Jenni Bailey who was in attendance today to present
some new information about the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Awareness program in the schools. She is happy to return at a
later date when we are less busy!! |

Facebook |
| This is the link to the official Facebook
page for the club. It will now be an interactive
way for members to share pictures and comment on
club activities. As with Walters Wacky
Adventures Page--you can visit it without being
a member of Facebook. Creating a Facebook
account is easy and free. You can limit access
to your page and just communicate with those
people who are really your friends. Signing up
is simple and by creating your "own" page you
give yourself interactive abilities on the
Brainerd Area Sertoma site. You can completely
ignore your personal page if you wish. However,
the profile and information pages may become THE
way for us to update your data base information
in the future. I am also totally available for
phone consultations for people who want me to
walk them through the Facebook site. For
instance--Jeff Fitch has promised me by Monday
you will be able to view his awesome barbecue
pictures. Les Franz also took some photos at the
party and maybe we can get him to join and
upload those!! |

Notes from your President |
|
It was nice to have a full house at our meeting today. As I've
stated several times we are VERY BUSY people involved in MANY
worthwhile projects for our community. I don't have to tell you
we are heading into our BUSY TIME.....I would like to take this
opportunity to THANK YOU in advance for all you do and will do.
We have WONDERFUL volunteers that have stepped forward and taken
lead roles for many projects. It is important that we support
them with our time and talents. We need to be responsible to
them and sign-up when we are able...and show-up when we have
committed. We all volunteer to give back to our
community.....let's not forget to APPRECIATE each other and have
FUN :) Lets be the kind of people that when our feet hit the
floor in the morning....the devil says "Oh crap" go ....DO GOOD
THINGS :)
