Program
Highlights from the Board Meeting.
  • Membership remains the same-we gained and lost two members
  • Sign up for annual dues—will be collected once a year in June
  • Future issue—should we have a hospitality suite at Regional Convention to promote our bid for the 2008 Convention
  • Sertoma will pay $100 towards the $130 cost of the Regional Convention May 5-7 in Aberdeen. Tami Webb reported that many great activities are planned; the whole hotel will be Sertoma members. It was also voted to pay $100 toward any members of the Bemidji Club who wish to attend to encourage them to become more involved.
  • Working on a mutual agreement with Bemidji to expand Pipe and Drape—they would acquire their own set and we could share for big shows. Right now they will be using our equipment this summer to see if it is feasible there.
  • The lights group will have a presentation at a noon meeting soon. We must decide if we wish to go ahead with this project that has been very financially rewarding to all the clubs we have checked.
  • Flag billing will go out in March.
  • $8,000 of pre budgeted items were approved including $4000 to the school district, three five hundred dollar scholarships for high school seniors, and some hearing aid assistance.
Thanks Bonnie Cumberland for taking notes!!!!

As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate. Rumor Corner - Features from the Valentine’s Gala

Sheila at Valentine GalaSheila Redding’s favorite song is now “Whatever Sheila Wants, Sheila Gets”. See photo of Sheila being serenaded by the group.
Valentine GalaAndy (Edith Bunker) Holmes is headed to Hollywood to participate in the Edith Bunker Sing Alike Contest. She will win, hands down.
Diane UlmenBeer keg rolling was not an Olympic event during the day but might have happened later on during the Party. Someone accused Diane Ulmen of being to handy with the beverage pitchers.

Jim Hanson was so enthusiastic he actually stayed up way past his bedtime having a great time.

Other Rumors  -
  • Welcome back George from your extensive tour “south” (he did get as far as Red Wing).
  • Welcome back also John Nelson, Mark Korte (changed your place of employment to Camp Confidence did you?) Kevin Donnay
  • John Raboin decided to be retired (maybe he finally ran out of fake employment tags)
  • Tami is working at the Office Shop and thanked everyone for all their moral support. She wouldn’t admit who she was “double bunking” with at the Aberdeen Convention. Someone also tried to tell us that the Sertoma Code of Ethics came into being during Tami’s reign as President.
  • Congratulations to Paul and Liza--another baby due in September
  • Chris Close may actually finally get a blue badge soon--Rod actually paid his fine today.
  • John Raboin shouldn't have retired-rumor has it Laura Beilke might have hired him. She had a fall today at the BHS new addition.
