Today's special Valentine's day program was brought to us by
Kathy Bittner-Lee. Not only did Kathy bring valentines for those
who forgot to buy one for their sweetheart, she brought big
boxes of candy to encourage Sertomans to share their most
romantic moments--either how they met or how they got engaged.
See if you can match the stories up to the participants above.
George Moore received the third place prize just for having the
longest marriage, fifty years and two months.
STORY A : They met on a blind date which wasn't very romantic.
The proposal took place at her auntıs house in front of all of
the relatives. A teddy bear was involved.
STORY B : They were both in the service. They met here in
Brainerd when one of them was on leave and the other about to go
off to basic training. They spent a month joined at the hip so
to speak and then he chased her back to her base and insisted
that the sergeant give out a leave for a romantic engagement.
STORY C: We were watching television and she said, "I might as
well go off to that island and live because you are never going
to marry me." He had been just waiting for the right moment and
dashed into the bedroom and produced the ring.
STORY D : He admired her sunbathing on a porch when he visited
with some other folks. fas 829-7761 Carole Paulson He fell in
love instantly with her little yellow sunsuit but did not
pursue. She had to ask him out on a date 6 months later.
STORY E: He and she were both management trainees in a store--he
was in tv's and she was in books. No one on their floor could
leave until everyone checked their money out. After he held
everyone up for at least a month she decided to give him speed
change counting lessons and has been giving him lessons every
since.
STORY F: He insisted she come to his house and give him a
haircut. It was Christmas time and he presented her with a box
with a rock poem on the outside. Inside was a bunch of socks and
underwear and a take care of me poem. Then came the little box
at the bottom with the engagement ring.
STORY G: He and she met at a party, she was leaving and he
wanted to know if she was coming back. She said yes, so he
waited for hours-no show. Finally somebody arranged a blind date
6 months later and she didn't even remember who he was until he
opened the door. |

The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond. |

Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life.
