Bob Swanger, Foundation Governor from the West St. Cloud Sertoma, was the speaker today.  He complimented our Club on its “legacy” of prompt payment of our Foundation dues, both for the Club and individuals members!  He encouraged us to keep applying for the matching Foundation Community Service grants which will total $285,000.  His speech was short because he was due at a meeting, but the District Governor, Dave Burggraff, filled the rest of the speaker’s slot.  Dave gave Milo two awards, the patch for the Home Club of the Governor 1999-2000, and the New Club Award for our membership last year.  Randy Phillips will receive his gold jacket at the upcoming meeting.  Dave threw out an interesting statistic -- the Brainerd Area Sertoma Clubs, with their outstanding participation, make up 1% of the total 22,316 members of Sertoma International.
