Program
Karen Owen encouraged all of us to take advantage of a unique opportunity to get involved with her job as district governor. On Thursday, January 8th she is planning an excursion to the Bemidji Sertoma Club. The trip will be made in a small bus. This is a social event for their club and our opportunity to network with them and give them some moral support. We started this club and they are down to 10 members and holding on by a thread. The social is at Peppercorn Restaurant. Contact Karen if you want to go. Bus leaves at 5 p.m. from the Riverwood Bank parking lot and should return before midnight. The rest of the program was filling out the survey to help share information with the Bemidji Club. Members not present will get a chance to do the survey next meeting.
Thanks Pam Sachs for taking notes.

Notetakers will be exempt from fines. Their job has gotten simpler though--take attendance, gather up business cards from guests and/or name spelling, and taking a low tech photo of the speaker. You will be using the simple little Sertoma point and shoot camera.

Greeter Schedule
Remember: As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody to substitute for you if you can't be there.

Business Notes
Cub Food is open New Year's Day $7.98 per pound special on steak and lobster.

Beth Burnard would like to encourage everyone who is tired of the snow to take advantage of the great after the holiday vacation deals. Contact her at Bursch Travel.

Thanks to the Lake Country Journal for donating a year's subscription. John Raboin was the lucky winner.

Rumor Corner
  • The menu today included Chateaubriand and Lobster. Brian Jelinski gave everyone a $50 gift certificate to use at Cub Foods.
  • Veronica was wearing mood rings and threatening to do kinky things with John Raboin and Brian Lehman. One wants to know how Brian arranged for his buddy John to win his year's subscription.
  • Brian K was cracking the whip over Cathe and coming up with as many fines as he could with such a small audience.
  • Milo is taking his baked potato with him to Florida to remember Sertoma by.
  • The dog pound was throwing slippers at the sergeants.
  • A three percent raise for county employees cost our sheriff a couple of bucks.
  • Veronica couldn't borrow a dollar to pay her fine--hmm the bankers are losing their credibility in this economy.
  • Jim Mayne has a new granddaughter and paid a happy fine.
  • Bonnnie Cumberland organized a whining crying episode to get people to work on Sunday. She requested shoes not money.
  • Mary Marana stepped up to the plate and ran the meeting in the absence of both Mark and LoAnn. Brian Kirkpatrick complimented her on a job well done.
