Brian Lehman is doing a super job of organizing our group
to win the bell ringing competition again this year. All
proceeds go into the general fund of the Salvation Army and
are used to fund their many philanthropic endeavors in the
Brainerd Lakes Area. We have already rang the bells 30 hours
which means we are 30 hours ahead of last year since we didn't
start until December. Manned kettles bring in about $40 an
hour compared to unmanned ones that average about $4. We
receive one hour's credit for manning the kettles either
singly or in pairs. However both Sertomans can count their
service hours for our reporting program. Contact Brian at
838-4158 to get on the list or email him at
lehmanconsulting@nisswa.net. Watch your email for
specific requests for slots that we have not been able to fill
at a regular meeting. |

Plans are going forward for the Winter Wonderland.
Steve Augustinack is preparing a new power point demonstration
disc to expedite sales. He also encourages everyone to
purchase a copy of the Rookie Party hilarity. The cost is $10
and all proceeds are donated back to Sertoma. |
|
Contact Rory Coit if you have any information about a
motivational speaker dealing with hearing impairment issues. |
| Thanks Bob Ehrich for being our
representative at the Distinguished Service Banquet. The
Board has passed a Resolution to make sure each year we have
the following people ready to attend this banquet: Service to
Mankind, Sertoman of the Year, Rookie of the Year, President,
and Chairman of the Board. |
| Nov 8 thru Dec 15 - Franklin Arts
Center "America by Food" A Smithsonian "Museum on Main
Street" Exhibition which looks beyond the home to restaurants,

| Greeter
Schedule |
| Remember:
As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10
minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find
their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate.
The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half
goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and
half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets.
Be there by 11:45 and call somebody to substitute for you if you
can't be there. |

| Sertoman of the Day |
Carol
Winegar (pronounced like vinegar) has been a dentist in the
Brainerd area for 23 years. In fact dentists are common in her
family; she is one of three. She and her husband Michael have
settled for 3 four legged children that go with one of her hobbies
which is hunting. She is a partner at Bender Winegar which is
located on South 6th Street. One interesting thing about Carol is
the fact that she and her husband have gone to African to hunt
twice.
Meat is donated to local villages, but they do have some trophy
heads on display at their house, "the dead animal house". Carol
was very enthusiastic about her experiences there.
Joe Schulte brought her into the club at what she described was
a very opportune moment. Most of her professional associations
have been with dental groups, but she was ready for a local
connection and we are thankful that Sertoma is it.
One of her other hobbies in Tai Kwan Do and one of her two
embarrassing moments involved another rookie Anita Travica and a
flatulating experience. She also talked about the time her husband
conned her into a dive into a northern Canadian river in the
beginning of June.

Gary Walters who introduced himself as "the loser" was given a
winner's badge for taking the last cold lonely Fleet Farm spot
on the bell ringing schedule for Friday.

Mark Korte asked "Who invited him?" after our illustrious

to improve his image. Keep up the good work and the fine money
rolling in Bill.
