Program
Linda AndersoLinda Anderson joined Sertomans today at Bonanza at noon for the last meeting to be held before the holidays. Since both Christmas and New Years fall on Wednesday this year, the next meeting will not take place until January 8th. If you have not made your reservations for the holiday party at the Old Waterfall, please take the time to contact Kari Robinson and do so now. Linda is a former Sertoma member who wanted to encourage us to participate in the Angels for Erica fundraiser that we heard about a few weeks ago. Erika Dalquist has been missing since October and her family is attempting to raise the money to provide a $10,000 reward leading to information about her disappearance. Linda shared the beautiful bracelets that are available. All Sertomans received an order form via email and if you have lost that one and want another go to www.erikaismissing.com where they are available. Linda took the opportunity to thank Pam Sachs who worked with her developing the order form which would work for both the email and the webpage. She also thanked all the Sertomans who have contributed to this effort.
Announcements
Monica Dukowitz, our waitress was the recipient of our annual tip which was collected in the form of the quarters and additional donations.
Most valuable lesson learned at this meeting--under no conditions should anyone allow David Pundt to hold the microphone while the speaker or the president. fas 829-7761 Jeff Deihl
The largest Sertoma Club in existence was the Kansas City Club that had its high point of 352 members. Sertoma trivia was a topic of conversation after Rory Coit announced the need for some committee members who are willing to work on developing our very own 25th anniversary party for the club next year.
Some new ideas put into effect at today's meeting that came out of the last board meeting included:
  • No shows who sign up for social events and forget to take their name off the list, will be billed for the cost of the event.
Our new agenda will be: brief announcements, speaker, quarters and tickets, and fines last.
Badges will be collected in a separate bucket handed around the table rather than as part of the fines. This will allow more time for them to be put back in the boxes.
  • Turn in your ticket money for the Fish House Raffle to Julie Sullivan. Rory has gotten tickets handed out well including many at businesses in the community. This is a quick way for the club and builders to make $5,000. So in the month of January, plan on sell sell sell those raffle tickets. Thanks again Ace Hardware and Dan Holmes for the opportunity to display them in your parking lot starting this Friday.
  • Raffle tickets make great last minute Christmas presents for people still on your list.
Reminder: If you signed up for Vision and Hearing Screening be sure it is on your calendar for Jan 2 or 3rd. fas 829-7761 Brenda Meech.
See Rory Coit for fish house tickets to sell. Thank you Julie Sullivan for volunteering to collect tickets and money and keep track of the fund-raiser. Remember we only have until January 22 to get these sold. Hopefully they will be on display at Ace Hardware (thanks Dan Holmes) before Christmas and flyers with pictures will be available for ticket sellers.
Call Kari Robinson at home if you would like to attend the Holiday Party and are not planning to be at the one meeting we will have before the January 11th Saturday party at the Waterfall. 828-0180

Greeter Schedule
Remember: Greeters (Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting people at the door and getting the ticket money counted and divided with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for the social committee's budget). As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Club Treasurer (Diane Rook Johnson) and half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you can't. Call Jeff Birks @ 820-5544 if you can't make it.

The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond.
Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life.
