Program
Jill Carlson-Ferrie and Cassie GhyllandJill Carlson-Ferrie and Cassie Ghylland appeared before Sertoma today to talk about their morning club, AM Exchange that meets Wednesday morning at the college. Its basis purpose is to provide newcomers and new businesses in the area with a networking club. They restrict their membership to one member from each of the professions but are constantly on the lookout for new members. The idea came from an organization called Business Networking International but at the present time the group is strictly local. The provide their membership with an access to the Chamber of Commerce. The join together to do advertising. Their meetings include an advertising spot for each member to promote their business plus a rotating 10 minute presentation. FAS 828-1130 Kim Ellingson, They sponsor educational seminars for their members to improve their networking skills. Anyone who is interested in joining is encouraged to contact Cassie. You do have to be willing to get up and make the 7:00 a.m. meetings thought because they do have attendance requirements.

Sertoman of the Day
Kari RobinsonKari Robinson who has been a member of Sertoma since 1995 when she was sponsored by Pam Bye was our Sertoman of the Day. Kari is celebrating her 10th anniversary as an employee of Travelerıs Fare where she is the sales manager and a travel agent. Of course she lists travel as one of her hobbies along with reading and volleyball. She plays in a sandlot volleyball league in the summer. Kari felt she didn't have to share any embarrassing moments with her fellow Sertomans since many of her most embarrassing moments have already been shared with the membership. She would someday like to buy a house in the country. She is very proud of her new home in town but has visions of living the country life.

Notes
AwardsMike Howard and President Gary Walters gave us the updates from the District Convention held in St. Cloud last weekend. Mike discussed CYA--Choose Your Attitude. The example from the convention was the success of the fish market in Seattle where the employees are encouraged to have fun and make prospective customers happy. Gary concentrated on membership. He would like us to continue in our role as the biggest Sertoma Club. We did come home with a few new awards for our banners. Notice the gold watch, Mike Boen was awarded one just like it for BANCing the Pequot Club.
Find a Sawbuck Corner:
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond. FAS This week's winners were Roy Miller and Jim Potvin.
Photos Photos Everywhere Whew, over 70 new photos have been uploaded to the MSN Community Page where your hard working photographer is now storing photos. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the photographs of the Ditch Pick (subtitled Dave Clausenıs Bachelor Party and including some photos from the actual wedding dance) either click on this link or cut and paste this address in the browser window: http://communities.msn.com/BrainerdNoonSertoma/_whatsnew.msnw If you are looking for a name to match a face, Pam is also trying to take current head shots of all Sertoma members and providing an online directory at the same location.
