Twas the meeting before Christmas, when all through Bonanza, not
a creature was stirring, not even a Gus; The announcements s
were read by the Bob Ehrich and Rory with flair and absolutely
no hopes that St. Nicholas would ever be there; The Sertomans
were eating, each one side by side. While visions of Brenda Meech
fining them danced in their heads; And Tami in her glory and
Kevin Goedker in his suit, had just settled down for a long
winter's chat, When up on the podium there arose such a clatter,
We all turned to look to see what was the matter. The glow from
the spring sunshine on the beard of gray gave the luster
of
excitement to Jim Park's patter. When, what to Sertoman
wondering eyes should appear, but a jolly bunch of swinging
Sertomans full of good cheer. Jim whistled, and shouted, and
called them by name: "Now, Gus! now, Kevin! now, Ken ,those hats
are a must and traditional Swinging Sertoman caroling was soon
upthrust. .And then, in a twinkling,We heard in that room an
awful rendition of a Walking in a Winter Wonderland tune. As we
all were laughing and thought it was over, St. Nicholas came in
the door with a groaner. He was dressed all in fur, from his
head to his foot, and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes
and soot; A bundle of presents for all good Sertomans, he had
flung on his back, and he looked like a peddler just opening his
pack. His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! His
cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little
mouth was drawn up like a bow, and the beard of his chin was as
white as the snow; A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
soon gave us to know Les Franz in disguise was ready to go. He
went straight to his work, and started throwing out presents.
Carole Paulsen went first and grabbed handful of spatulas and
Mike Boen was blessed with a toilet you know whatcha. The best
presents of all came in little brown bottles that were not very
tall. Laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, out
the door he flew But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of
sight, "HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT."

finishing. If anyone has another spot it could be moved to, Rick
would appreciate getting his work space back. |

Find a Sawbuck Corner:
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond.
This week's FAS winners would have been Rita Johnson and Mary
Marana. |
