Jenny Sweet, Lyndsey Anderson, President Ashley Isackson and Secretary Erin Schellin from the Brainerd Serteen Chapter Jenny Sweet, Lyndsey Anderson, President Ashley Isackson and Secretary Erin Schellin from the Brainerd Serteen Chapter were the featured guests of Sertoma today. The club was founded in April of 2000. They hold their meetings the first and 3rd Mondays in room 204 of the high school under the direction of their advisor Steve Pelke. One of the groupšs major goals this year is to encourage some younger students to join so that the club will continue to have good leadership next year since most of the 27 members are seniors. The club has already been very active. They formed a team for the Relay for Life and placed first in their division. They held a bowlathon to raise funds for their club. Last Friday, the group decided to get involved with the Food Shelf. Two teams went out into the community to ask for donations. Anyone who has any suggestions for projects for the group is encouraged to contact Ashley or their advisor. Serteens wants to become an active participant in community service in the Brainerd area.

Some issues have been raised concerning the Sertoma Sunshine efforts. As a group we do want to acknowledge the good things that happen to the people in our club and provide moral support when things are not so sunny. Mary Marana, as one of the chaplains, has agree to be the coordinator of our efforts. Her numbers are as follows; 828-4539 or 829-8212. Please contact her if you feel a card or flowers are appropriate.
