Ski Gull is a non-profit community recreation area that is supported by fund raisers and area business groupsDeb Eggen, the new executive director of Ski Gull was today's speaker. Her background in education and her experience skiing (32 years) makes her the perfect person to run Ski Gull since the emphasis is on providing a safe environment for the youth of the area. She has lived in some wonderful ski areas including Montana and Zurich, Switzer- land. Deb Eggen, the new executive director of Ski Gull Her speech started with some very amusing instructions about how to get ready for the ski season. She mentioned the children's learn to ski program, the Alpine Club which teaches kids to race, and the the Brainerd Warriors Race Program. She also emphasized the fact that Ski Gull is a non-profit community recreation area that is supported by fund raisers and area business groups that want to keep the costs down and make it a fun affordable experience for everyone. An example of their costs includes $12,000 to make snow. As Deb said in her closing remarks, "Think snow, pray hard, and ski gull!"  Thanks Deb Eggen for the free lift tickets. Ski Gull is looking for volunteers to help with the children's programs. They also are looking for corporate sponsors who wish to purchase either a back of a chair lift sign or a parking lot sign to help support the programs.
