Yes, Randy Klinger from the Brainerd Family YMCA did come to Sertoma today to challenge our club to match or beat the other Service Clubs in contributing to the last $200,000 needed for their three part expansion program which includes a wellness center, a new parking lot, and expanded pool area that includes a youth room. However, the major focus of his talk was not money or new buildings but program. He commented, ³Do not think about the building; instead think of what goes on inside.² He then went on to enthusiastically talk about the many programs especially those which benefit the youth of the area including the teen dances and after school supervision for children whose parents are working. The Y continues to provide a focal point for the community, redirects attention to downtown Brainerd, and sets standards for kids. Caring, honesty, responsibility and respect are the by-words of their programs. They are family oriented with a goal to provide programs and services for all ages and abilities. They are also pledged to keep their operating costs down and keep their rates reasonable for the approximately 1000 members who join every year.

Jennifer Carver, a customer relations manager of Amerigas was today's
honoree. Jen is an import from Bemidji where her parents live and work.
She is the youngest of three and likes hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and
music, music, music. She originally planned to include a career in radio
when she graduated from BSU in 97. Her degree is in communication and
public relations. She would very much like to go back to school for her
masters in business management and human resource management. Jen just
joined Sertoma on November 1st thanks to the efforts of Dave Bergin. Her
speech ended with a sincere thank-you to Dave and compliments to a
