Announcements
Please be on watch for any repair issues regarding flags/flag sleeves the next time that they are put up, as we would like to have them taken care of before winter.
Our monthly board meeting was held yesterday. Rick Besmehn reported on a few items which were discussed. One being clarification on visitor/guest policy. Our treasurer does track the guest lunch numbers, and we should have a larger balance in that fund. Please remember that if you bring a guest to lunch who is not a prospective member the cost is $9.50. Please see Darren Larson, Treas. to pay for your guest, or the Sargeant at Arms will see that you are invoiced. Thanks!
Please obtain a form from Darren if you need to update any information on your member file, including volunteer hours. We like to keep these up to date for the club.
Steve Augustinack was absent from today's meeting having been in the hospital from Aug. 10 through Aug. 15 with an unknown illness. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers as he recovers.
Pam Bye continues her positive attitude, and was in good spirits when George Moore visited her recently. She sends her greetings to the club.
Steve Mau reports that the Holiday Lights project will probably begin in 2006, as there is still some groundwork to accomplish. The next item on the docket is to attend a Brainerd Public Utilities meeting to get detailed info so those costs can be analyzed.
Viking Football Books - Mike Boen gave a quick report on the football books for new members. This is the major fund raiser for the Northern Lakes Sertoma Club that was BANCed by our club. They have donated money to the schools for phonic ears, provided hearing aides, and a $5,000 Scholarship. You have 32 chances to win, a chance to win on the Super Bowl and a final chance to win in the "losers" lottery. See Mike if you are interested.
Run Volunteers Wanted - Camp Confidence is looking for volunteers to help on its upcoming fundraiser-the Rally Up North which is September 3rd. If you can help out, please sign up at one of the next few meetings!!
Sept. 3 - Camp Confidence is looking for volunteers for the Rally Up North. If you can help out, at the Rally, please sign up at one of the next few meetings!!
Sept. 9 - Camp Sertoma Golf Tournament at Eagle Landing. Shotgun Start at Noon. Cost is $100 per player with corporate sponsors paying $550. They would like 36 teams to help support next year’s Camp Sertoma which will again be two weeks. Dave Burggraph would like to encourage everyone to sign up early and pay in advance to help them get more organized and to work with the people at the Fort Steakhouse on the dinner.
Sept. 23 & 24 - First scheduled Pipe and Drape at the Agents Expo at the Civic Center. We have to set up 30 booths so make room on your schedule.

Greeter Schedule
Remember: Greeters (Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting people at the door and getting the ticket money counted and divided with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for the social committee's budget). As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Current Club Treasurer and half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you can't. Call Patty Hartman.
