New Business Speaker We welcomed Teri Lane (a familiar face as a former Bonanza employee) as the manager of Erbert's and Gerberts and Daylight Donuts. She is General Manager of both and the store also includes the Brainerd Lakes Cake store. It is located across from WalGreens in the old Perkins location. The cake store includes other baked goods and is operated by Bill Mitsch's daughter. Teri was scheduled to be the assistant manager, but a last minute decision put her in a job she seems to like. Her grand opening was the biggest one ever for the Erberts and Gerberts chain and they are leading the franchise. This franchise is family oriented and focuses on giving back to the community. The sandwiches are all named from family stories. Daylight Donuts was located in the southern areas to begin with and they are very popular. They stay open only as long as they have a supply and many of them are closed before noon. They deliver donuts with 24 hour ordering. Erbert's and Gerberts delivers as many as 50-80 subs in about an hour. Basically the offerings at Erbert's and Gerberts include soup and cookies. Daylight Donuts urges you the crave warm, light, luscious, pillowy, plump satisfyingly SWEET donuts, every kind imaginable. Some of the intriguing sandwich names include "Narmer", "Halley's Comet", "Geeter" and many more. The stories are displayed on the wall.
Thanks Pam Sachs for taking notes

Business Notes

Rumor Corner
  • The dog pound was discussing politics not fishing today!!
  • Welcome back Lori Rubin! Mary Marana!
  • Queen LoAnn couldn't get her magic microphone working.
  • Our Sergeant was wearing a pretty dress today--guess which one was here.
  • Kathi Williams and Bryan Barre are running away to the Blues Festival in Duluth this weekend--not together of course.
  • Sandi Fowler saved her guest--she didn't venture near the dog pound. A quick poll around the table indicated everyone near the editor was SCARED to sit there. Jeff Fitch did venture into the group for the first time today.
  • Welcome Michael--Diane Rook Johnsons's retired military son.
  • Karen Munsterteiger--Track and Field Expert? What is the rest of the story? Inquiring minds want to know. Something about broad jump and best event in high school for Greg Straka.
  • John Raboin-Boy In A Suit
  • LoAnnism of the day--inventing a new word, she liked it-undebtedness!
  • Milo got arrested for cross dressing as Jeff Olson.
  • Karen Owen was proud of her ruts in the ditch at the County Fair.
  • Bill Mitsch thought John Raboin introduced himself as a Boy Named Sue.
  • Paul Heinlen paid his fine for having a HUGE watch.
  • Bryan Barre and Nate Grotzky were excited about the kinky stuff they found at Steve Mau's storage auction.
  • Bill reminded the rookies they were not only in charge of gossamer, bbq etc and most of all David Allen PUndt.
  • Pooch's happy fine had something to do with Scotty Fisher and his wife. Kathy suggested fining Pooch for too much information.
