The
Sertoma Monthly Business Feature focused on the
Sears Store. Mary Kolkind has owned Sears for five
years and she was very proud of her new building by
Nor-Son which is located on the corner of County
Road 77 and 371North. Mary talked about family and
her husband Steve. Her background includes 28 years
working for General Mills. Her hobbies include all
outdoor activities as well as reading adn quilting.
John Rehberger, sales consultant, presented the
information about the store itself. He was born and
raised in Brainerd and he loves the area and he
likes his job. Sears is famous for Craftsman Tools
and Kenmore appliances. He emphasized that they are
really a premier showcase for a wide range of
products. John gave us a terrific introduction to
the many other brands that they carry. He encouraged
everyone to visit the store and see the many many
displays of all kinds of things. They have price
match (10 % off if you find a lower price), and they
install, deliver and service products. Sears
participates in BNI, Kinship, Sertoma, Mid Minnesota
Builders, and Hart. Mary promotes the area and
encourages her employees to do the same. Prize
winners included Steve Mau, Mary Marana, Bill
Gropper, Sandra Ehrich, Tom Rosenberger, and Cathe
Picek. Grand Prize went to Steve Rose who found the
answer to the schedule the quickest. |

Schedule |
| Remember:
As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10
minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find
their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate.
The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half
goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and
half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets.
Be there by 11:45 and call somebody to substitute for you if you
can't be there. |

Of
Note |
Gary Walters is crossing into Ohio. He has struggled with bad
roads without shoulders and safety issues but he is on schedule
and half way. This is definitely the most difficult effort Gary
has made so far for Kinship. Your gif of any amount is greatly
appreciated. A pledge of 2 cents per mile is only $25. Gary is
doing a blog and adding videos every day to Wacky Walters
Adventures--you do not have to join Facebook to participate in
the page.
Thank you notes were received from the Brainerd Lakes Community
Foundation, Warrior Workers, Northern Pines, and Smile Again
Ministeries for their Winter Wonderland Grants. |
