Jason
Huskey from the Brainerd Blue Thunder Baseball Team was
today's speaker. The owners of the Blue Thunder team are
dedicated to the idea of keeping this quality baseball
program in the area. Jason is a collegiate coach who decided
to come to Brainerd to help his family with this project.
The Northwoods League is the second most prestigious one in
the United States and attracts many Division 1 players with
major league potential since it plays the most games per
season. General Admission tickets continue at the low price
of $6 for adults and $4 for kids. This terrific park has
been improved this year with pavement, new deck additions,
and earlier start times to make it easier for families to
attend (6:35 M-Sat and 5:35 Sun). Jason also encouraged
people to become host families and businesses to become
supporters. He stressed the fact that our attendance is the
lowest in the league and they are hoping to get an average
of at 700 this season. Some highlights this year include the
June 5th Crow Wing Power Night and the July 4th Race for the
Cure. The Blue Thunder will be actively involved in raising
money for the Susan G Komen Foundation. For more details go
to www.brainerdbluethunder.com. Their new website contains
much information, links, a store, and opportunities to get
excited about baseball in Brainerd. |

As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10
minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find
their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate.
The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half
goes to the Current Club Treasurer for the social committee and
half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets.

-
Julia's
party featured a gigolo, nice job on the karoke Doug.
-
Tom Krekow dressed in his Nebraska best to see Julia off.
-
Bill Goers got caught on camera stealing Julia's flamingo from a
rather intimate spot. Bill was his usual hilarious self when
given the opportunity to roast the honoree.
-
Carole Paulsen's new name is tired, tax season ends soon we
hope!
-
Craig Dunmire is relaxing in Mexico--good thing Tom K is willing
to pay a fine for being a good host and taking care of his
guest.
-
Speaking of warm spots and tans--Brian Kirkpatrick was caught
coming out from behind the screen where he was showing Mary
Marana his tan lines from his recent vacation.
-
Anna Gorecky was horse farming today and very late for the
meeting. Jeff arranged a surprise for her however!!
-
Bryan Jelinski was giving out bagger to boss autographs and
fines today.
-
The Super Eight is THE place to go if you wish to get accosted
(see Mary for details)
-
Ron Morris is a happy grandfather!
-
Mark Puschinski and Dave Clausen paid today for some
demonstrative man to man activities. Welcome back Pooch.
-
Dale Bolt--stealing, disrupting and soliciting. Perhaps Mary
should have just turned him over to the sheriff instead of
fining him.
-
According to Kari Barnes life sucks today and she was willing to
pay a fine to say it!
