It was treat time today; our speaker was Jean Justin from Cold
Stone Creamery which has a new branch in Baxter in the Grizzly
Center as well as one in St. Cloud. Jean and her husband are dairy
farmers who decided to branch out into the business world. Their
choice was a unique one Cold Stone Creamery, which started in
Arizona and has branched out all over the U.S. The best
super-premium ice cream is made fresh daily in every store.
Mix-ins include fresh-baked brownies, fruits, pie fillings,
candies, cookies and nuts. The ice cream is mixed on cold granite
stone and then served in a fresh-baked waffle cone or bowl. They
also have specialty cakes. Wait persons at Cold Stone are not
interviewed, they are auditioned. The servers at Cold Stone
specialize in putting a little pizzazz into their service, so
potential employees have to sing, dance and do a little bit extra
to become part of the staff. Jean served everyone a delicious
sample of their product and encouraged us to come into the store
on April 25th from 5-8 p.m. and enjoy a free slice of Cold Stone
Creamery’s Make a Wish Ice Cream Cake and make a donation to the
cause at the 4th annual World’s largest Ice Cream Cake Social.
Last year Cold Stone Creameries all over the country raised
$600,000. All donations are used by the local branch of the Make A
Wish Foundation. |

Schedule |
| Remember:
Greeters (Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting
people at the door and getting the ticket money counted and
divided with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for
the social committee's budget). As greeter you have several
duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job
to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a
ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be
divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Current Club
Treasurer and half goes to the Club President along with the
bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you
can't. Call Patty Hartman. |

| Sertoman of
the Day |
Dave Burggraff took this opportunity to share his illustrious
Sertoman career with us today. It all started back one day when he
was camping out with his son at a Boy Scout Retreat sleeping with
Rick Besmehn (that got a few catcalls) and watched him get up
early and leave this fun adventure to go to Maddens to take care
of some responsibilities for the first Regional Convention hosted
in Brainerd. By the next Regional Convention some 10 years later,
Dave was Co-Chair of the group that planned the second activity in
Brainerd. He has served as Treasurer, was a gold coat president
and was Regional Governor among many achievements. His greatest
Sertoma accomplishment was the establishment of the Haapajoki Fund
and Camp Sertoma. Dave’s business is MidAmerica Mortgage and it is
located in the Trailshead Building. He and his partners specialize
in residential home loans, purchases, new construction and
refinance. He has been in the industry for 18 years, first as a
realtor and then in finance. Thanks Dave for all the good you have
accomplished as a Sertoma member. Dave and his wife Donna were
childhood sweethearts and they have grown children and a new
grandchild. He enjoys golfing fishing and hunting. |

Lots of prayers for lots of folks this week. Pam Bye is in
the hospital with an extremely low white blood count due to Chemo.
Mary Marana is organizing everyone to provide some meals for Randy
and the kids as well as Pam when she comes home. Mary has a sign
up sheet and would appreciate a phone call from anyone who would
like to contribute that wasn’t there today. Pam needs quiet so
visitors and phone calls are discouraged. Lynn Franz is
having reconstructive surgery. Julia needs prayers for her
father. |

thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive
feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the
