Sertoman
of the Year - Our Sertoman of the year has been very active in
our club, district, and region for years, working hard and being
noticed by many within our region. Tami Webb has revitalized and
set the bar for our social activities to a level that rookies
and events to this day are still judged. But that was the
beginning for a worker who was inspired by Hopper to work hard ,
play harder, and live the Sertoma philosophy. Life has not
always been easy and family situations have sometimes tested our
Sertoman of the Year. But from adversity and struggle true
character is built. |
|
Being active and working hard for the largest
Sertoma Club in the world by itself could take all of the time a
person has to offer. Tami still finds time to be very active
with her family and within the community. Tami has been and
still is an extremely active Chamber member including Chamber
Ambassadors. She is active with the Mid Mn Builders’
Association. Tami has served on just about every committee in
Sertoma, dedicating lots of behind the scenes hours. She has
earned numerous other club awards and was a recipient of the
prestigious GEM Award. She brought our club to Gold Honor status
in an era when service club memberships are on the decline. Only
one other club grew by 25 members. Thanks Tami for all your hard
work and dedication to our organization.

April 29 - May 2 Regional Convention in Mankato. See Kari
Robinson very soon to firm up room reservations and to fill out
application form. The club will pay $100 of the $135 participation
fee. Those attending will be responsible for hotel and personal
expenses. This is a great opportunity for new members to earn
their GEM award and for all members to remind themselves of the
purposes of our group. |
|
May 1 - Tour of Tables and Silent Auction at Woodland Good
Samaritan Village. Tables will be set with various themes and a
luncheon will take place from 2:30-3:30 p.m. |

|
May 15 - The Flag project’s
first date. |
|
May 22 - Diamond in the Rough Camp Confidence Cleanup Day.
Sertoma is having a two week drive to gather up cleaning supplies
for this event. Plan on bringing those cleaning products
cluttering up your shelves or that you tried once but don’t really
like and donate them to the cause. New items are also very
welcome. The green camp van will be parked at Bonanza and you can
place items directly into the van on May 12th and 19th. If you
wish to bring something next week, Pam will take it to Camp in her
truck. Mary’s Wish List for cleaning includes: mops, buckets,
brooms, rakes, paint brushes, any cleaning supplies, scrubby pads
and sponges, dish soap/dishwasher soap, bleach, paper towels,
window cleaners, spray bottles, lemon or furniture oil etc. Bring
your kids, your neighbors, your friends and most of all yourself
to Camp on Saturday, May 22. |
|
June 12 - Regional Twins game for Sertoma. Plans are being
made to make the Twins Baseball Game the spring family social
event. We need to help get at least 500 tickets sold in our REGION
so that our very own Swinging Sertomans can sing the National
Anthem. Two coach buses will be provided if we sell enough
tickets—an adult bus and a family bus. Costs are still being
discussed. |
|
July 13 - Installation of Officers Dinner is scheduled for
Ruttger’s. |

Schedule |

Remember: Greeters
(Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting people
at the door and getting the ticket money counted and divided
with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for the
social committee's budget). As greeter you have several duties.
You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to
greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket
if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided
by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Current Club Treasurer and half goes to the Club President along with the
bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you
can't. Call Patty Hartman. |

The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the
newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from
reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS
followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just
leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to
collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never
respond.

Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our
new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy
to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any
photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow
Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job
or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life.
