Today
the crew at Jack’s House welcomed the Noon Sertoma Club for its
regular meeting. The event was held in the spacious dining room
that holds about 250 people when seating in the bar is utilized.
Many people stayed after the meeting to take advantage of the
opportunity to bowl or play Virtual Golf. The facility still
lacks some finishing touches and the Laser Tag area will not be
completed until next fall but activities are in full swing .
This week is their Grand Opening and the list of fun things
to do goes on and on. It starts Thursday with a jingle contest
to win a dinner for two and hotel accommodations at Grand
Casino, Twisted Friday with Rockabilly Bowling, Jackpot Bowling
and a BBQ on Saturday, Family Day on Sunday including their
breakfast and lunch buffet, and a League Appreciation Day on
Monday.
All this information was shared by our speaker of the day,
Ginger Lorentz, one of the owners of the facility. The Bowling
Alley is named for her father and its goal is to provide the
Brainerd area with a family entertainment center. Ginger
remarked, “Creating an atmosphere where everyone is comfortable
is our most important goal.” Thanks to the staff at Jack’s House
for making our visit very friendly and fun. Thanks also to Teddy
Bear Sound for providing the speaker and traveling microphone. |

April 26 - The Flag Project is moving forward thanks to the
hard work of the people who attended the aborted Ditch Pick. The
Ditch Pick will be rescheduled due to inclement weather. The flag
poles are cleaned, drilled and have the flags attached. The second
part of the project involves getting the pole holders in place
which will need the services of the Gopher State people who need
to determine that we are not interfering with power, phone or gas
lines. Make Note of the Following Information: The project’s
first date is May 15th. We already have approximately 100
flags to deal with. Anyone who has contracts out must deliver them
to Beth Burnard at Bursch Travel by Monday. If you cannot do that
plan on attending the Flag Committee Meeting (RSVP to Beth) at
Poncho's and Lefty’s on Monday, April 26th. If you cannot do
either of the above, call or email Beth with the details of the
contracts that you will deliver to the April 28th Sertoma meeting.
Beth’s contact numbers are 218-829-1976 Work and 218 825-7467 or
email her at
bethb@bruschtravel.com. Also if you need to contact Rory
Coit for any reason by email his has changed to
rory@quality-graphics.com. |

Robinson very soon to firm up room reservations and to fill out

purposes of our group. |

discussed. |

| Greeter
Schedule |
|
Remember: Greeters
(Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting people
at the door and getting the ticket money counted and divided
with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for the
social committee's budget). As greeter you have several duties.
You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to
greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket
if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided
by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Current Club Treasurer and half goes to the Club President along with the
bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you
can't. Call Patty Hartman. |

Thanks to all the brave souls who figured out that Tuesday was the
right day for the Ditch Pick/Flag Project and showed up at Rick
Besmehn's. A special thanks to the few brave souls who actually
went out in the pouring rain and tried to pick up the ditches. |

The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the
newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from
reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS
followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just
leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to
collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never
respond.

Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our
new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy
to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any
photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow
Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job
or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life.
