Program
Laura Beilke encouraged everyone to contribute a part of their tax refund to the Sertoma Annual Fund.  She also encouraged you to get a tax refund for next year the same way.  We automatically give $25 per person which makes us a one hundred percent club. The National program has given away $189,000 the past year to support Sertoma's Mission of Hearing and Health.   The Fund helped our club  last year starting the Safe Ears because we applied for their matching grant program..  Forty different hearing impaired students receive $1,000 scholarships.  Forty other students receive $1,000 scholarships if they are working toward a degree in the fields related to hearing impairments.  Laura encouraged us to help educate the community to apply for grants from this fund.  The fourth branch that benefits from this money is the National Adopt-An-Agency-ProgramThe Fellow Award is given to those who donate $100 especially at Convention time.  Karen Munsterteiger remarked that she appreciates Sertoma giving back to the community.  Chuck Brenny is also a fellow.  "I hope that you realize that those grants are really appreciated by the parents of college age children. "  Bob Ehrich received his pin.  Mary spoke about how important the hearing aide program is for those who have had to deal with a hearing impaired child.  Rory Cort and Karen Owen were also acknowledged.  Our club deserves recognition for its continued support of the Annual Fund.  Laura encouraged us all to visit Camp Sertoma to really understand the need.  Pooch stepped up and challenged the Dog Pound to match his contribution.  Steve Augustinack also contributed at the meeting.  Laura will take your contribution and publicize it at the Regional Convention which is coming up soon.
Thanks Bonnie Cumberland for your help with attendance.  Veronica Jensen took some fun photos.  Thanks Pam Sachs for taking notes.
