Program
We were scheduled to hear a talk from the National Guard that got postponed due to troop deployment. Instead Pam took the opportunity to catch up on her photos of new members. Instead of an FAS contest this week, there is a $20 prize out there for someone to collect at the next meeting. Look at the twelve smiling new faces and see how many of them you can name. Use the numbers on the photos and send your answers by email no later than Tuesday April 8th. The entry that comes to eglponys@brainerd.net with the most correct answers will be the winner of both the FAS Sawbucks at the next meeting--need not be present to win. However, officers who have had the most contact with these new members are not eligible to compete. Let us take this opportunity to talk about membership. We are encouraging everyone to go out and find a former member of Sertoma and or member who has not been at meetings recently and bring them back. Invite them to come to Sertoma with you next week. The membership committee is open for suggestions about how to keep our members more active and to increase our membership even more. We would like to remain the biggest Sertoma Club in the World. One of the other focuses of the meeting today was volunteerism. Mike Howard returned for his first meeting after the accident and issued a very special thank you to Julia Sullivan. As a new member she was willing to take over the duties of pipe and drape for him and the rest of the club. She was very proud of the fact that the builder's show set-up and take-down had at least forty people each. Mike reminded us that each volunteer earns on the average $50 an hour for work that is done on pipe and drape. Perhaps you cannot make most of the setups and takedowns because of work. There are many other jobs that are available. Pam is always looking for people to take notes at meetings for a month or two months a year. Jeff Birks has been faithfully calling greeters. Could you make three phone calls a week and get a chance to talk to the membership as the make the greeter roster? Jeff would definitely like to hand this duty over to someone else since he has been doing it since he joined. Please let Jeff know if you could be the greeter getter. All of the other committees can use more members--remember Sertoma means service to mankind.

Greeter Schedule
Remember: Greeters (Be sure to take care of your duties that include meeting people at the door and getting the ticket money counted and divided with half going to Tami to give away and half to Diane for the social committee's budget). As greeter you have several duties. You need to arrive about 10 minutes early. It is your job to greet people, help them find their badges and sell them a ticket if they wish to participate. The money collected must be divided by the Greeters equally--half goes to the Club Treasurer (Diane Rook Johnson) and half goes to the Club President along with the bucket of tickets. Be there by 11:45 and call somebody if you can't. Call Jeff Birks @ 820-5544 if you can't make it.

Notes
Thank You Notes
Jinny Haugen who lost her Mom last week, thanked everyone personally for the cards and moral support. Mike Howard also thanked everyone for the cheering up during his recuperation. Keep Tom Rosenberger in your prayers--he is recovering from surgery on his arm.
Dear Sertoma--Thank-you for your gift toward the purchase of the Lighthouse. Your generosity in the time of national financial instability speaks volumes of your commitment to children who are hurting in our community. Your members are welcome to come by a. We are located on the corner of 7th and Norwood in Brainerd. It would be a good idea to call first (828-0408). We would be gland to give you a tour. Thanks again. Jon Ring
Dear Sertoma--"I believe we are here for a reason. As each day unfolds, we see less of the shadow and more of the sun" read the card sent by Kelly Barnaby. She wrote, "Thank you for the $200 Savings Bond and the lunch at Bonanza. This was special.
The Junior Girls Scouts made their own card and signed it Junior Girl Scouts, Troop 369 to thank Sertoma for its $50 contribution to their funds.
Rumor Corner
Just one BIIIIIIGGGGG rumor today--a little stork was whispering around the meeting that a certain Spam loving person who was involved in the presentation to Julia Sullivan today of a can of his favorite product for a new pizza topping is going to be a daddy.
Find a Sawbuck Corner: Call 829-7761
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond.
Photos Photos Everywhere New photos go up almost every week on our new MSN Community homepage. This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life. If you wish to view the current photographs or check out the new online directory go to:  http://communities.msn.com/BrainerdNoonSertoma/_whatsnew.msnw
