Dave Clausen again filled in well when the election of officers
was postponed with hilarity. He had to display his shirt given
to him at the Home and Patio show to help him in his “dream” of
becoming a macho construction guy. Dream Builder Hawk Hawkinson
even gave him an employment application.President Gary
Walters gave a report on the meetings that have been held in
relation to the proposed Christmas Lights fundraiser.
He made
several relevant points: (a) it could raise anywhere from
$25,000 to $60,000 (b) it would not replace Pipe and Drape but
would instead give some people who cannot participate in Pipe
and Drape an opportunity to help raise money for the club (c) it
would mainly involve some capital outlay in setting up the site
for the first time and Sertoma people willing to sell spots to
businesses and clubs as well as man the ticket booth, and (d)
now is the time for anyone with an opinion either positive or
negative to share it with the members of the board. |

Sertoman of the Day
|
Terry Curtis who is Director of Business Development for
Anderson Brothers Construction Company was today’s Sertoman of
the Day. Other than a little spice in his background (running
for Miss Pequot while in high school and a background in
theater) Terry seems to be a wonderful addition to the club. He
is a native of the Crosslake area, in fact his family has lived
there since the late 1800’s. He went to school at BCC and UMD
eventually graduating with a degree in corporate development and
marketing. He and his wife Dee Ann have a brand new son born in
March. His hobbies include anything outdoors, home improvements,
landscaping and working with youth. He is involved with a
committee of volunteers in Crosslake that staffs and runs the
Old Fire Hall, a Christian Youth Center. His dream for the
future involves trying to create a world . . .”in which all of
our kids could live in a kind compassionate environment both in
their home and community.” Welcome to Sertoma Terry. |

Find a Sawbuck Corner:
The FAS Program was designed to encourage people to read the newsletter. Even those who attend the meeting can benefit from reviewing the announcements etc. If you find the letters FAS followed by your name, you must call the number provided and just leave a message that you called and attend the next meeting to collect your money. Simple--however 90% of the people never respond. |

This community is for the club, easy to join and gives you the opportunity to add edit or delete any photos that are posted as well as leave messages for fellow Sertomans. It is a good way to thank someone for doing a good job or give them some positive feedback for a big event in their life.
