Tom Kientzle, director of golf at Craguns spoke to the group today about the exciting new golf
course, The Legacy. He brought greetings from Dutch and Irma who
own Craguns, and emphasized all the planning that went into the new course. The whole team at Craguns is very proud of the
Signature Sanctuary Course designation from the Audubon Society, an honor it shares with only one other course in North America. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the course to
"possess a balance which comes from melding holes of varying degrees of difficulty in a pleasing order."
Tom went on to talk about the beautiful new clubhouse which will open in April and which they are moving into today.
It will include 35,000 square feet divided into a sports bar, fine dining, a pavilion, member locker rooms and the second floor Audubon Room.
He stressed the variety of choices golfer's have for price and benefits and the uniqueness of the Legacy Walk Reversible 9-Hole portion of the course.
Although Tom hails from Chicago originally, his parents got involved in golf when they moved to Brainerd and bought the Birch Bay course in
1971.

Sertoman of the Day
|
Brian Kirkpatrick, today's featured member, has been in Sertoma since 1995. He is a local boy who has come back to Brainerd twice in his life. This last time he started his current job with Norwest Bank. He is married to Davi, has one son Dan who is a junior in high school,. and a daughter Lauren who is an eighth grader. He put himself through college and had a short teaching career in the Twin Cities area. His transition into the business world started in the insurance business and moved on to banking. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and travel. He credits both Melody Banks and Dave Burgraff with his decision to participate in Sertoma. Brian is currently serving as a Sergeant at Arms and has truly seemed to enjoy his work and personally has enriched the party fund tremendously with his witty fines.
