 Basically,
the committee starts anew each year when the incoming president selects
a chairperson. That person then goes out and looks for helpers who have
creative ideas, employers who may be in position to donate goods or
services, previous experience either on the committee or as part of the
Rookie Party Committee of the previous year and/or mostly a joyful
outlook on life.
The Social Committee does not have anything to do with the planning
of the Rookie Party. They have a budget which mostly comes from fines
and monies collected at the functions. With this they plan three major
parties--a Christmas holiday party, a spring and/or a summer party.
The Ditch Picks are also considered to be social functions but the
committeeΉS job there is mainly to line up refreshments. This is not a
time consuming job, much of it is done over dinner at the regular
meeting. This year's chairperson is Tami Webb, so we are looking forward to some exciting events. |
