The Social Committee starts each year when the incoming president selects a chairperson. That person recruits members who have creative ideas, employers who may be in position to donate goods or services, previous experience either on the committee or as part of the Rookie Party Committee of the previous year and/or mostly a joyful outlook on life.
The budget for this committee comes from fines and money collected at the functions and with this they plan three social events.

The Ditch Picks are also considered to be social functions but the committee's job is to line up refreshments. This is not a time consuming job, much of it is done over dinner at the regular meeting.
